              Day     Plan    Done

              Mon      6        6

              Tues     7        7 (3 on trail)

Wed     8        8 tempo (didn't think I could manage it, but I did)

Thurs   7        only 6 because I mis-read my training plan. Probably for the better.

Sat      22 on the road since it looks like I can't drum up a trail buddy, otherwise 20 trail

MTA: changing this to 20 on the road because I'm already tired and besides I'm slower than last time I did this, so 20 will take me as long as 22 used to! All I really care about is getting a 4-hour run in.

In the end I did 22 on the road. I was meeting a friend at the end of 6-ish, but I "had" to round up to 7. Then she got messed up on pausing her watch and wanted to round up at the end. So I got another extra mile.  My first hour was the quickest and I got slower from there, which is not how I like it to play out but doesn't surprise me at this time. 4:20 is also not how I'd like it to play out, but whatev. It's all I had today and the time-on-feet is invaluable.

              Total: 49 mi

Don't make excuses for why you can't get it done.

Focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen.

Dennis - if the doc said no running for 6 weeks, maybe you should avoid slow jogging, too.  I know that several summers ago I did not heed my doctor's advice, and ended up making an injury last nearly a year, when it could have been gone in 6 weeks if I had let it heal.
