Boston Get Together? (Read 104 times)

New skirt in town

Is there going to be a Boston get-together this year for us Masters?

I know I've put the partay together in the past few years, but I"m feeling kind of badly that I haven't been participating in this forum as much as I'd like to.  I don't want to step on anyone's toes by putting together a party if others are already working on it. All I know is that I want to have some fun and meet you all again!

If you all have an interest, I can contact The Lir again. They've been great about hosting us in the private upstairs room.  It will be right across the street from the Expo, which makes it easy peasy!

Well I'm really hoping you do your party again Robin, since it looks like this year I'll finally make it up to Boston to spectate. Really looking forward to meeting everyone!

The Lir sounds good, Robin. Thanks for putting it together.

Oh, goodie!  I was hoping I wouldn't be stepping on anyone's toes to offer to do it again.  It's so much fun!  I'll post when I get more info!

          Trails are hard!

You've set the bar PRETTY high for this party, so I'm very glad that you'll be doing it again for new and old.  Unfortunately, I went and scheduled a 10K and visit to Richmond that weekend, so I'm bummed that I'll miss the festivities. Sad

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

I'll be there, I love the parties you throw!   Smile

This year's Samuel Adams 26.2 Boston Brew was just debuted today, so I will be certain to have this available for our partay!

I need to review logistics, but I'm pretty sure I'm in--actually TriBee will probably be there too.

                  Look forward to it!

                    I am definitely in!!Big grin

I hope to be in.  But it may depend on a few things.  What day/night?  I am guessing Sunday?  Also, what about no running guests?  My DW her sisters and some other friends of mine might be up on Boston on Sunday night.  Yea, I know I am a logistical nightmare.  I wonder if UPS could help here somehow?  Big grin

I think the Lir can do Sunday April 14 from 2-4 PM for us.  As for non-running guests, there are always some!  I will be leaving a spot for (totally voluntary!) donations to help cover the cost of the party for runners and non-runners alike.  Last year, I donated these funds to the Melanoma Foundation of New England, and I'll do the same this year!

Robin---You are awesome for putting this all together again. I am hoping to be there even though I am now sidelined with an injury and won't be running Boston this year. I have to at least come into town and get my expensive shirt and pull-out officially. No deferments these days, but I am already qualified for 2014, so April 15, 2013 will be all about cheering for friends and celebrating this crazy--wonderful endeavor we share.

See you all in April---we'll be just beyond the half-marathon spot on the lefthand side for the first wave and then near the 10k spot when the third wave goes by.

Karin, I DO hope you can come by.  I must say that you have one of the most sane and balanced approaches to your injury I've ever seen.  When I get injured, I pull into a cocoon and can't even get myself to post here at all.  I'm going to try to learn from you!

Okay, DW and I are in for Sunday.  Looking forward to it!

The Saint and I will be there too.  A bit disappointed it won't be just you and I Robin, but I suppose it's okay if others show up.  Spareribs
