Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
Here’s what I have for last week’s tally.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Might be back with you guys this week! Will let you know. Getting ready to sign up for a trail half marathon here in town and it's next Saturday so I better crank it up.
Friday and I'm only at 21.3 miles so don't know if I can make 40. Well, I have 10 planned for tomorrow with the group so you never know.
Monday morning and I feel a certain sense of accomplishment, although I didn't quite make it. Ran twice yesterday and got about 36 miles for the week.

as it turns out, all I had to do
in New York this year was to go
under 3:09. that would've gotten me
1st place from the entire Staten Island.
and I would have passed Dean Karnazes,
which I always do. the way it stands,
however, I'm in 2nd place. and Dean,
"the fittest man on Earth", passed me
with great authority in Central Park.
man, that hurts
