CarolynCarolyn?  Hope she’s not buried in snow.  Be careful driving that thing!

Twocat’s cooking with a bong now.  Interesting.

21 miles (8:26). It’s a long way to go just to end up back where you started from.

    Have a great weekend.

      Good morning,

      Nice long run Tramps...

6 snowy miles this morning. Surprise snow storm this morning, forecast was for 20% chance of light rain & 34F

31F & 2 inch snow fell in 2 hours. DW & I ran 6 miles in the middle of it on a paved trail.

It is one of those really beautiful looking snows, wish I could have run with my camera.

Courage ! Do one brave thing today...then run like hell.

Nice 21 Tramps, and snowy run, Sarge!

7 easy-paced miles for me this morning in a windy 39 degrees.  I wasn't sure how to dress for that, but did okay, if a bit warm.

Somehow I got my calendar wrong and realized that this week is the weekend for my schecule to have a 20-miler, not last week.  Next weekend we are going tubing at Perfect North (first time for this) and I may not have time to get in a LR at all.

If I had realized this sooner, I would have done 20 today, since the forecast for tomorrow morning is 33 degrees and rain/sleet.  Yuck.

Maybe the weatherman will be wrong.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

...very nice (and tough) running guys//////

          TRACK RUN tomorrow..........ohboyohboy

supposed to be Raining like hell,

          ask me if I care.

          .............................good running guys

..nothing takes the place of persistence.....

          My mind is going

I ran 4.  Working this weekend to try and make a good impression on the new CEO.  He's heading to Alaska on Monday and asked if he could have some information by then.  I'll see what I can do.

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

That's tough stuff to run in---hypothermia is a possibility.

Doesn't hurt to miss a week on 20-milers--they take 2-3 weeks to fully recover from anyway. If you can't do them during the week, your medium long runs will keep you in fine shape until the you get your 20 in. There's always the TMRoll eyes

              ME TODAY:

resting heart rate too high this morning---which means rest day!

hang with my honey, some tv, guitar, draw a comic, and eat, eat, eat----did I mention eat?

              New skirt in town

7.33 easy miles this morning, in weather so perfect, it's making me feel guilty. I mean, I know we suffered last year, but we are having a wonderful winter this year.  After reading everyone's posts, I'm feeling verrrry lucky!

                aka kameele

3.1 miles around the lake in the same lovely weather that Robin had.  could have been shorts, but the tights didn't feel too bad heading into the wind.

Taking my DW's advice and running when I get the chance, not when my "schedule" says to.  Makes too much sense, but getting two in on the weekend should make anything during the week a bonus.  And next week doesn't have any travel!!!  at least yet that I know of.Roll eyes

Next?  Could there be 26.2 somewhere???

                  I can dream, can't I?

Just like Tramps I covered 21 miles this morning. 12 of those miles were in the dark, but ohhh boy did the sunrise was worth being out there in 17F. I was aiming for 20, but then I remembered that I have decided to end all my long runs up Kermel grade to mimic Heartbreak hill, so up the darn thing I went and ran down with glee Cool.

The weather is now 34Black eye, I wish I could have waited to run now, but I have a wedding cake I have to finish. BTW, my DH is in the dog house tonight. Before I left for my run I took out all the butter I will need to use for the frosting, which needs to be in room temp for about 3 hours...what did he do? He put them back in the fridge when he woke up, so the butter wouldn't meltDisapprove..arrrrrrrrr.

Off to do your traditional butter-cream frosting recipe, which I don't like., but ohh well. This wedding cake will be fun, the decoration is M&M.

Happy racing, and happy running my friends.

Ah Boston. It’s the Carneghie Hall for runners. Mostly because you do get there through “practice, practice, practice” but it also takes some dedication to a goal with lots of pain involved in getting there. C-R

Wow, some nice 21 milers there, Tramps and Mariposai. I feel so far away from that sort of distance... I'm hoping for a long run of at least 10 miles tomorrow.

Dave, what sort of stuff does your boss want to know?

Robin, you guys did get hammered last year. I can't believe the weather some of you are having. And if I have to read about the new Michigander running in shorts all through January and February, I think I'll scream! (jk, enjoy it Perch, I know I would)

Nancy, your post yesterday said you were going to run 3 hours on the TM because you were running long today. I figured you'd do at least 50 miles today! Wink Funny about your DH and the butter. He was just trying to help!

Carolyn driving the dump truck. I sure hope Tazzie can work a video camera, that would be a fun thing to see! Anchorage is forecast to get about 18" of snow this weekend. They've had a lot this year, too.

We got a lot of snow yesterday... well, a lot for us when just "flurries" were in the forecast. Probably 4" of new stuff and they were big fluffy flakes yesterday which isn't what we usually get when it's almost -10. The big flakes are when it's warmer... oh well. The problem with new snow on a Friday afternoon is that most places won't do any clearing over the weekend. It should warm up a little and I'd like to get out for a few miles. I can't believe how sore my legs are though... that run on the hills on Thursday really made an impact, apparently!

I was thinking the same thing Robin as I ran my 2nd long one in 3 days. It's New England guilt-I'm sure we'll have to pay for it eventually with a sou'easter or two.Sad. But for now let's enjoy it.Cool.

                        My mind is going

Dave, what sort of stuff does your boss want to know?

Because of a bunch of stuff (end of year, sale of company, short staff, etc.) I'm behind on computing some network savings stuff.  If he, as the new guy, could show up with some numbers, it would make him look good.  Or at least make the new company look good which is my goal.

I'm making great progress.  I broke down the task into 4 phases and I am through the first 2 and going strong.

My only obstacles are a 3 year old running around, and now DD2 home from college for the weekend (and it's her 22nd birthday on Wednesday so will be taking her out to dinner and stuff.)

I'll get as far as I can now and get up when everyone is still asleep tomorrow to finish up.

I'd take off Monday and go xc-skiing if we had any dad-blame snow.  My skis look so sad (as well as my snowblower and shovel.)

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

                          the More the Merrier!

So I hear it's Skip's birthday today. Happy birthday to one of my favorite ultra heroes!!

Rest day today... I'll take that hug, Mari, and thank you very much! Tomorrow is my super-hero race in costume. Can't wait!

Dave, it was probably good to take a break from your streak. Good luck on getting your boss what he wants. Skip, happy birthday.

Nice long runs for paavo, deez, perch, Tramps, and mari.

We're in the Lansing area for the wedding of my son's brother in law. It gives us a chance to see the kids. This morning, it was about 30ยบ and almost calm. I got in 8 miles at a 10:53 pace. When I got back to my son's he was heading out to take his dog (a Corgi) for a walk so I went with them. The wedding was this afternoon and very nice. We're about to head out to the reception now.

A good day and good runs for all.
