Seattle R&R...let the planning, dreaming and party begin!!!! (Read 1259 times)

Timbo--Just don't try to charm some new travel agent; you're likely to end up in East Overshoe via dog sled Wink Seriously--i do a fair amount of flying and I use one of the all inclusive travel sites to find out what's available and then book the one I want at that airline's website. It seems to have a little more leverage if things get out of whack. also check southwest. com as they don't participate on the travel sites. actually--I just checked Southwest and here's a sample--yes it is 8 hours of travel. From Indy to Seattle via either Phoenix or Chicago Flight Depart Arrive Via Time Cost 2361/942 7:45am 11:05am MDW/1 6:20 $240 2013/144 8:30am 1:40pm LAS/1 8:10 $205 429/1420 10:40am 4:30pm PHX/1 8:50 $205 521/2902 1:20pm 5:50pm MDW/1 7:30 $189 395/969 6:30pm 10:30pm MDW/1 7:00 $189 949/230 6:45pm 11:55pm LAS/1 8:10 $189 Select Returning Flight Seattle/Tacoma, WA to Indianapolis, IN (Monday, June 29 2009) 1511/16 7:00am 5:00pm MDW/1 7:00 $222 930/3168 12:25pm 10:00pm MDW/1 6:35 $222 479/521 1:00pm 12:35am PHX/1 8:35 $189 1511/16 7:00am 5:00pm MDW/1 7:00 $222 930/3168 12:25pm 10:00pm MDW/1 6:35 $222 479/521 1:00pm 12:35am PHX/1 8:35 $189 Other airlines might give you better prices, but the sooner the better for booking. Good luck Kevin ETA: hope that all makes sense, it formats a little differently once it's been posted. Alos don't know what the closest airport actually is, at lest it's in the same state. Smile

Next?  Could there be 26.2 somewhere???

    I can dream, can't I?

Tim – actual flight time for me, Dayton to Seattle, is about 6 ½ hours, but I have a layover in Dallas of a little over an hour. I booked my flights on www.expedia.com and got my round-trip ticket for $325 (including taxes), which is a great deal - better than the ticket prices we got for our August trip to Huntington Beach, CA. Mariposai and Erika said they would help me to get to the house from the airport (although I could just take a taxi if no one was available to pick me up).
Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

I could just take a taxi if no one was available to pick me up.
nobody available to pick up a goddess? that's about as funny as dg's "BTW" rr as if nobody cares.

Holly, what's this "nobody available to pick me up" nonsense? We'll have a car, and can come get you, or any one of the many residents will be glad to do it. We've got 2 months to figure out details like that. Mike, thanks for the offer, and we've stayed at that Silver Cloud before. That's where we hit the hot tub on the roof after a Pink Door meeting... remember that,Tet?

            MM#209 / JapanJoyful#803

I'm wondering if leaving Thur afternoon and arriving that night would be better? but our plan is to stay in Seattle until Sunday and probably leave in the a.m.
this is pretty funny too, . . . tammy, tammy, tammy (and everyone) - the longer the better, . . and "am" better mean Monday am. . . . or be prepared for some last minute kidnapping ps (mike/runrwife) - what's your room number?Smile

Thanks for your help! Knowing me, I hope I don't end up in East Overshoe via dog sled Smile I'm also planning on renting a car...do I really need to? TimBo

whoa, - good job on a Lake Washington house Erika everybody bring swimming suits, . . . except tammy and midnight madness. ps - tim, don't worry, we'll have a sag wagon at mile 16 in case anyone might need a ride back, . . or maybe just buy one and realign it for profitable resale.

Erika: do we have the house Thurs night? If it were just me I would not hesitate to drive up Thurs, but my friend Laura might have a more difficult time getting both Thurs/Fri off work, plus she has two middle school children she has to find accomodations for (she's a single mom). And the price estimates you gave us before - was that a straight across the board price division for each person regardless of whether they stayed two or three nights, or does it mess up all your math if the two of us stayed on Thurs? What are the hours of the Expo? because that'll make a difference also.

                    Tammy

Yes we have the house Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights, check out on Sunday. Race is on Saturday. We'll be in on Thursday, presumably the first ones because the contract is in DH's name and on my credit card. Shocked So we're planning on getting there to check in and make sure everything is "as promised" in the contract. Yes, Tet, it's a beauty, no? Would love that grill in my backyard.

Erika, that house looks like the perfect party spot to me. Steaks, chicken, ribs, hamburgers oh what shall we bring. Oh ya beer and wine...
