Resting? get a hug!!!
leave the blowdrier home too...just send me a list of the things you will need and i will bring them for you.
Seattle weather always feels cooler to me, so I am debating what to wear for the race.
"Dream big...then run hard toward those dreams!!!
good. I was hoping it'd be safe to not bring my blowdryer. I figured there'd be a few there and I could (hopefully?) just use one for the couple minutes it'll take to dry my hair.
crossed with Mari - that's a good idea. Mari can bring a blowdryer and that'll leave you some extra room in your carry-on, Holly.

It was 45 when I got up this morning. Expect race weekend mornings to be 50ish, give or take. The breeze may make it chilly. Afternoons will be 70ish (right now, race day high is supposed to be 68, but that will change 5 more times). Whether that's 'shorts' weather depends on what you've been experiencing at home recently. In Seattle, people will wear shorts if it is sunny. Even if it is sunny and 40.

What's the best way to get from the airport to downtown Seattle?
No offense.

If you were coming a few weeks later, you'd ride the brand new light rail. But it won't be open.
We have a reasonable public bus system. You want to go to the metro bus stop outside of baggage claim carousel #1. Catch the #194 to downtown. (you can also catch the #174, but it takes twice as long) It'll cost 2-4 dollars each depending on what time you get on. You will get off somewhere in the bus tunnel... ask the driver which station.
A cab ride will cost 40-55 bucks.
They have a special bus called the "Airporter" that goes from the airport to the downtown hotels including the westin. Google that or just wait until you get here and ask them at their desk which is in the area behind Baggage claim carousel #1. I think it is about 16 bucks each.
There's also some kind of speedi-shuttle service. I bet that's about 20 bucks from downtown, not sure. I *do* know that you have to arrange it in advance. Google "seattle airport shuttle" and it'll pop up. Oh, if you book a round trip in advance, it's a little cheaper.
Or you can catch the Lopez express, depending on when you get here. I have doctor appointments Thursday morning. If y'all get here on Friday, though, my day is wide open. PM me.
Ultima tastes like failure.

Well, the t time is almost here. The house is ready, meals plans are ready, Seattle is ready for our out of towns guests and now it is time to relax, pull out the chair and enjoy the rest of the week. A huge thanks to SRLopez and divechief, our local tour guides for being willing to drive folks around. You guys are awesome.
It seems like we have Enkie and my DH as possible support crew on the day of the race. Bring any gu or special drink that you may want to be waiting for you half way on marathon day.
