Hope you all have a great time here in Seattle.  I'm a newbie to the group but belonged once upon a time when it was hosted on Cool Running. I won't be doing RnR but may see you at the Expo.  If any of you are doing Marine Corps in October, perhaps we can meet then. Anyway--welcome to Seattle!

Welcome back, Paul.  What name did you go by at Coolrunning?

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Erika and Posie - are you wearing your MM singlets?

Holly, I always wear it. But this time around I'm also taking an alternate or something additional for inclement weather. This is going to be a big MM race so you'll see lots of yellow singlets. Definitely wear yours!

                Resting? get a hug!!!

Yes Holly. I will be wearing my MM singlet. It is fun to see other maniacs in the crowd. I am still debating which size wings I should wear......

"Dream big...then run hard toward those dreams!!!

                  No offense.

                    Inclement?

Even if it rains, which is currently unlikely, it'll just be sprinkly and warmish (by most people's standards).  Don't poach yourself.

The chances of a deluge are teensy tiny.

I don't think anybody should worry about underdressing!!!!

Wear the really big ones, so you can carry me when I get tired....

SRL, yes I just checked the forecast. It'll certainly be nice and warm by my standards! I think I'll be just fine in what I've got ready to go. We leave bright and early tomorrow morning, so tonight will be the last minute flurry of activity to get the house/kids/dog ready for being on their own a few days. The cat is already good to go.

After my quite warm 6 mile run this a.m., when it was already 70ish at 9:30, I think that Seattle weather is going to feel perfecto to me!

packing is mostly done, still working on some laundry, and next I'll start making some cookies to bring up.

I had my Appt with my heart Doc today to see if is was ok to go to Seattle....my Appt was suppose to be Friday. After some tests and talking to me he said sure, go ahead. But he told me to be a good boy and run at a lower HR, and pay close attn to how I feel...but he said I could run. I need to pack as my flight leaves at 7:00 am in the morning. I am behind here ok, but I need some numbers from somebody that can pick me up at the Seattle Airport in the morning...I am scheduled to arrive there at 11:02 am. I don't mind waiting around there for a while if need be (I can sit and people watch and drink a few beers, hehe) Hey, I am there to run....and party. biketm42 at webtv dot net Happy TimBo PS: Geez....what a roller coaster ride this has been for me!!!

Running has given me the courage to start, the determination to keep trying, and the childlike spirit to have fun along the way - Run often and run long, but never outrun your Joy of running!

yay Tim!! Since you'll likely be running about my pace then to keep your HR low, maybe we can keep each other company. I'll be running with Aamos also. Plus my friend Laura will likely start out with me, but as she is naturally a faster runner than me, she'll probably run her own race after about 3 or 4miles.

You are getting in at a good time, as that's real close to when Aamos and her DH and Erika and her DH arrive. You are all within about an hour of each other. I'm sure Erika will chime in or message you with her flight info and where to meet up with them.

I think you probably have my cell number already? Although I'm not even leaving home until around noon and won't get to Seattle til about 9 p.m. or later.
