Glad you bumped this up, mariposai - I had forgotten about it.
I don't think I'm the right person to be planning transportation though. I'm not familiar enough with where we are staying (not even sure exactly where it is, although I have a general idea based on description of the house), but I don't know the streets well enough in that vicinity of the house, start, finish areas to try and plan transportation issues. I think a local might be more adept at that.
Laura and I are leaving Thursday afternoon to drive up. She is working that morning, so the plan is to be on the road by early afternoon, which unfortunately, will probably put us right in Portland rush hour, but we'll just have to poke our way through it. I anticipate getting up to the house by late evening - maybe around 8-9:00 p.m.?
I will bring up some local southern oregon wines. and can either bring up or help pay for groceries that we can buy in Seattle as we get menu's planned out.

I just looked at the information on the rental house, and can’t find an address anywhere. It says that it’s 15 to 25 minutes from the heart of the city. I’m just trying to figure out how far it is from the airport. I’m due to arrive at 11:14 a.m. on Friday. If someone could pick me up, that’d be great, but I don’t want to put anyone out. Taking a cab or train or bus whatever there is to offer is fine with me, as long as someone could tell me where I’m going.....
I’d be happy to help with the food or the clean-up, wherever I’m needed.
Coincidentally, a childhood friend of mine lives in Seattle, and I'm hoping to see her while I'm there. I haven't seen her in 27 years, though. Wonder if we still have any common ground....
No, they won't put the actual house address on the website - otherwise they'd have lookey-loos checking it out, etc. and I imagine they want to keep that a bit private for whoever is renting it. I would imagine that Erika has that info by now though since she reserved the house.
I'm going to guess that it's along Island Way South. My former two bosses live a couple houses apart right on that street and based on the general description of where this house is located on Lk Wash (I think it said SW Shore of Lk Washington), and based on the style of the house and how close it is next to the neighboring homes, it looks like it's right about where my former boss lives. If that's the case, then yes, Holly, it is fairly close to the airport.
As the time gets closer and we figure out when others are flying in, arrival times, etc. I know we'll arrange for pick up service for all of you. No worries about having to catch a cab, etc. It'll all get worked out. When are the Aamos's arriving? Erika is getting in Thursday mid day or so right? I think she said she'd be the first to arrive at the house, which I guess she has to be since it's in her name.
