Throwing this out there for anyone interested.

RAGBRAI (7 day bike ride across Iowa) is ending in my hometown of Clinton this year.

Our group has room for up to four people this year. Our digs include a 40ft Bus and we've been very fortunate in securing host homes each night for hot showers and a cozy place to sleep.

We pretty much do our own thing as far as riding. We have some that like to get an early start and some who like to get pushed out of each town by the state troopers. Some roll into town at 3:00pm and some of us like to roll in around 7.

We have been offering these spots to several people. By filling the bus (not overfilling) we help keep cost down. There is a general kitty fund that pays for the fuel, soda's, beer, gatorade and snacks, $$ to the host families and pay the bus driver.

Almost forgot....With it being in Clinton you'll only need to get to Clinton. I can provide a safe spot for your vehicle for the week and the ride out to the start is included. Unlike the standard charters, your car will be waiting for you in the last town of the last day Bonus!

Heylene - what happened to the one with the big front wheel?

If I had been into cycling at a younger age, I'm sure I would have done this ride. I will do the last three days of the Michigan Shoreline West tour (did the full 7 days a couple years ago). One nice thing this year is that there will be a good contingent of people that I know from the running club and multi-sport group, so for once I'll have a group to ride with and hang out with afterwards each day.
