Hi folks!
since David is the only one that has anything running related for me to talk about, I hope you don't mind that I talk about him.
he ran his first relay today - a 50K relay. He had so much fun and says he can't wait to do more of these. His team finished 50K in 3:45 for an average pace of just over 7 minutes I think. They came in 2nd in the HS division. first place was 3:25, so they were a bit behind. If our #1 girl had been able to run this, i think we could have had a shot, but she was out of town, so another girl on the team ran and she's more about my pace. But the kids all had a great time and they all did so well!
here's a pic of him on his 2nd leg. a 4.1 mile leg. he ran it in 29:44 but said his legs really felt shot after a mile on this leg.

Hey kids,
Tomorrow is the last day of August -- don't forget to shoot for a prime number award! Here's a handy table to help you plan your run tomorrow:
I have 260.1 miles so far, so I need either 2.9 or 8.9 miles tomorrow. Maybe if I was following Mike E's plan, I'd run 32.9 tomorrow.
I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.

we had a hard frost in many places last night. Didn't freeze here yet, but it's coming.
Oh that is just so wrong in August....Nice run, btw, and money found to boot!
Stumpy - where is your island?
Tammy - your DS sure has grown!
Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
