Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
Here’s a placeholder until I get last week’s tally up. Sorry guys, just didn't get to it this time. Work and family stuff just keeping me in a frenzy.
Here’s my tentative plan for the week.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
I am racing on the weekend - So a heavy taper week - Final taper weeks are actual planned out - unlike other weeks

Race was pretty bad - I was on a comfortable pace the 1st 12 (80.25 miles) and things went south fast by @ 13 hours. Hit 100 miles in 15:35, shut down the race at 22:15 and 124.5 miles. Time to heal and learn so I can do better next time.
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
Can I play? I need to make up for my ignominious July mileage award.

The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

Hi Holly!
It's been awhile since I've been able to post in this thread. I've been slowly building miles over the last 6 weeks or so. The plan was to rejoin next week as this was to be a step back week, but due to some travel rescheduling I made it in this week! Of course that means with travel rearrangements, I'll be doing a step back next week so will be a bit short then.
M - rest
T - 7.2 miles
W - 5.1 miles
Th - 7.7 miles
F - 2.6 miles
Sa - 1.3 mile warm up, 5K race (26:10, 2AG)
Su - 13.3 miles

40 miles. Next week will be a cut back because I'm been feeling tired all the time.
