<MTA RANT ON>If you are in a hierarchy I have a great idea.  If you write an email saying the decision is yours to make and put a period after it that is fine.  It means you are going to let the recipient make the decision.  If the actual sentence is that the decision is yours to make so long as you make the one I would have, then you know, ACTUALLY SAY THAT!  <RANT OFF>

And thanks for the recipes.  We'll have to give them a shot.  The Hub will probably be especially keen on the beef and sausage one.

Enke - Stickers?  Nobody offered me no stickers.  Dang it!  I was quite sad to remove my two running related stickers from the back passenger windows of  Camry.  Oh well - Guess I'll have to order new ones!

And I'm gonna love the heated seats ~~

Which age group can boast of having the most volunteers? 35-55, 55-70, or  25-35?

Not trying to be boastful here, but I think it's the 55-70? Makes sense, especially as you get older. You retire, then you have more time. I look at DS#1 and DIL with 3 boys under the age of 6, and it's impossible for them to make the commitments they need to volunteer just for their own kids! If you've been blessed in your life, you need to give back. Even if you weren't blessed, it will make you feel better helping someone else.

Congrats on the new car Leslie! Now go get those stickers! And I love your new avatar

      Have a good conference Holly!

You haven't topped out yet Tom, you're just getting started. There's all kinds of PT torture in your future!

Thanks for the recipes Twocat. Now that the weather is turning cooler, I'm always looking for new soup recipes to try.

5 miles this morning. Way too early in the year for it to be this cold! Only 40° at 5:30 and a nice "stiff" breeze out of the NE. Time to put the shorts away.

add us to the Suburu lovers - 2005 Impreza.mta - just told it was 2006

8 miles - first long sleeve shirt, but still IRC except for the wind which I felt in both directions - why????

we're signing up for some gasparilla - just booked flights for florida in february

Twocat - other than pumpkin pie, I am not a fan of squash, so maybe I need to try one of your recipes.

          Leslie - Enjoy!

Aamos - always love a thinking topic, even if non-running related, as long as it is not politics or religion or sports...

Interestingly, I had an attorney from Toledo offer me a job today, helping them part-time with their Medicaid cases working remotely.  Since their firm is far enough away not to be a direct competitor, I am considering it, but I haven't heard the details yet, so still up in the air.

Now I am in a hotel, with no one bothering me, no responsibilities or obligations, a glass of wine, and a Kindle full of books.  Bliss!

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Leslie, congrats on the new car!  What color did you get?  I'm also a proud Subaru driver - I'm on about my 7th one.  I have a blue Forester.

Holly, congrats on the job offer!  Even if you don't take it, you should use it to ask for more money where you are now - you have a special skill set and it's likely you should be making more money!

moebo - happy tapering!  What marathon are you doing - you probably said, and I missed it!

I ran 9 miles in the state park today - gorgeous!  The fall colors are just past their peak but still amazing.

I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.

Lots going on here ... ummm - I ran? Oh yeah and picked up dinner on the way home, so another run/dinner combination.

Jay - A knot the size of Utah can be a problem!

Amy feel free to insult my geographic expertise any day – I require maps! and yes you would like my dinners - I eat well Wink

I just cannot understand why all these school shootings are happening.  We seem to be becoming immune to all of this and that scares me almost more than the shootings.  My heart aches for the families affected by the mass shooting in Roseburg.  My heart is broken for the family of the shooter.

Holly - The fact that you have been propositioned with this job opportunity says volumes about your skills.  You should be very proud of yourself.

It's Wilderness Green with ivory leather interior.  I tried to add a photo here for car porn, but can't get it to work.  It is absolutely the most luxurious vehicle I have ever owned.  I feel like a little kid at Christmas.

What a fun daily today after a long, but very fulfilling day at work.

Go Holly go with the new job offer.

7 miles after work today. A fun day, indeed

Holly - since it’s remote, just do both.
                      .
Amy - since I’m not on FB, twittie or anything else, to say nothing of not doing that much running anymore,  I’m a fan of posting most anything, . . . songs, poems, reminiscing, etc. , . . as long it’s okay to skim over some, sometimes to my detriment as when thinking 2cat’s squash was a fancy game they play back there. Smile
                      .
After enjoying the solo five-day senior citizen “seasoned-folk’s” (thnax zigs) silver vacation last week more than 5,000 miles from where other things are more important, it’s off to Portland for my fifth Portland Marathon (1990/1992/2004/2006), this time with 17 members of the Japan 100-Marathon Joyful Running Club and three of their non-running spouses too.  That’s all the incentive needed to bring mine along too. yippee. I hope it will be good practice for next year’s RAReunion. Double yippee.
                      .
ps mike - I had to go through Seoul on the way over and Taipei on the way back but got the RT for $982 in case you might be able to time something for January 2015 with MikeMP and me. Otherwise, it’s getting kind of embarrassing that you haven’t signed up for no. 5 yet.
                      .
pps enks - Portland’ll make me miss one of my favorite local runs with the fishes usually trying to keep sight of enke.  I don’t see enks signed up but hope she can go catch an even bigger fish. good luck.  Just pretend this old guy is catching up to you in the last stretch and you’ll do finel.

ppps leslie - that's a nice picture of your father.  He was a lucky guy and, I guess,. he knew it..

This is what I had in mind, just a little extra income on the side, if it pans out.

Enjoy the Portland Marathon!  Maybe I will see you there next year.
