Greetings!  Manchester expo is done.  We had quite a few last minute registrations, most for the half but plenty for the full marathon, including one rather frustrating gentleman who was agonizing over whether or not to run the full marathon, at 4:45 pm.  Expo closes at 5. He also wondered why the price had gone up ( dude, the 26.2 is tomorrow) and wanted to know the weather. ... Cold, windy, possible snow..he did sign up.  You can't make this stuff up.

The Expo was good though, not a ton of merchandise booths, but the space was filled, and the day was busy.   I ran about 8 miles this morning beforehand, and I hope to sneak in a very short run tomorrow, bcod.

We may have some snow, though probably not a lot. Our Mayor, who I confess I have not much liked, is growing on me this weekend; he has lined up the Highway Department to drive the course in the early morning and put down calcium chloride so we don't get ice and any snow melts off the road.  We will have sand at the water stops so tossed water doesn't freeze.  There are benefits of an experienced crew!

Just have to figure out my clothes.. I will be in the lead police car, and probably warm but then I plan to be at the finish; with the weather we want experienced eyes on the runners. Scrounging for some wind pants.

Good running Erika. I hear you on needed rest days sometimes!

Aamos, nice racewalking for your husband.  marj and henrun, good job in your 65+ race.  fatozzig, I like the pictures of the marsh.  Nice long runs for Twocat.

This morning, it was in the low 30s and there was a pretty good wind.  I got in 8 miles at an 11:15 pace.

A good day and good runs for all.

I hope you get gooder soon Tom White. Tell Claire I said Hi.

Cookies!!!!! Does Simon go run run run too??

Wow Mrrun, Dad does not go that fast anymore and I pull him pull him.

TwoCat, Dad has been going to the asylum a lot. He took a whole bunch of windows there. I don't know why nobody keeps him. He said it is the biggest hysterical renovation project in the whole Michigan.

Leslie!!! Did you make any of them critters go run run run!?! those ducks are extra cheaters. They are in a big bath to stay away and the go way up high.

Dad took me with him when he went to do things in the big city. He went and got some clothes for Noah at the Halloween store. Then he went and got a whole bunch of candy for Easter. If Mom hides it, it will last a long time until then. We had only two trick or treaters when it was Halloween here. Dad gave them both lots and lots of candy. And then he had some too. He was happy to see them because he did not get home until it was scarey dark out.

Today, when we got to the grocery store, I told him about a trail that mom takes me down by there. He said we can wait until he gets done shopping, but I keeped on bugging him and we went. I went run run run all over crazy and Dad just walked. There were two ponds by there, but Dad would not let me get in them. He said if I got all dirty he would take my to the veterinarian and he would give me a bath and then get out the vacuum. ! We saw a weird weird tree.

Dad says that when it gets dark out, that kind of tree comes alive and walks around looking for doggies that sleep on Mom and Dad's bed!! Yikes! I better be good.

When Dad had the groceries we went home and Dad took a nap and I helped. He said his arms and chest feel like they went run run run on a marython. When we got up, Dad put my best running shirt back on. This time he did it on backwards. Then he got mad when I went tinkle on it! If I could dress myself, I wouldn't. He's just weird sometimes. I went down to my best creek and Dad wanted me to rinse the shirt off. The water is stoopid cold. No way! It was going to be dark and I had lots of fun fun fun! I chased critters and made them go way up trees! We only went two miles, what ever a mile is. But I was so happy.

Lamerunner - Good luck to you, all your volunteers, and the racers tomorrow.  Hope the weather is too awful bad.

Taggy - Nope, didn't get to chase any ducks.  They were all scardee-cats anyway, 'cause they went flied, flied, flied away anytime I got within a few feet of them.  I DID see a great big vulture and lots of big ravens, and a really pretty hawk, but they all flied away from me, too, even though I wasn't anywhere near them.  As for your dad and the asylum . . . well, we probably shouldn't say too much . . . .

Ha! Love the pictures, Tag. You're good with the camera. And don't tinkle on your shirts. I agree with Leslie on the asylum (but it's very nice looking!).

Leslie, those photos are beautiful. We have a bunch of ducks that are still hanging around out field. The all sit in a flock on the snowy grass below my building. What's with these stoopid ducks? I'm worried they're all going to freeze to death soon, but not sure what can be done.

Nice racing, Marj! Love the idea of a senior master's race. Henry, I sure hope that AT feels better soon. Probably best to hit the pool for some pool running. When I was having AT issues, that seemed like a magic bullet for recovery.

The forecast wasn't really great for temperature, but the clear sunny skies were wonderful all day. When the temp rose over the original forecast (of 15) and hit 24 at 2:45, I knew it was a good day for a run! So... off I went from DH's office. Told him I'd be a little over an hour. But it was so nice out, and I was warmed up and having a good run, that I stayed out longer and did 13.2 miles. I should've texted him to let him know the change in plans because he did get worried when I wasn't back after 90 minutes. Oops... sorry Honey! Nice run though, and glad I did my long(ish) run today since tomorrow looks to be quite a bit chillier.

The plus side of winter coming back? I was able to take advantage of a great sale on whole chicken and have three of them out in a cooler on the deck! They'll get nice and frozen without taking up freezer space!
