I password protected my wi fi through my desktop and now I can't figure out where to enter the password when using my laptop. I think I got to the point where you plug in the password, but it wants to know the ISP / username. What???

what operating system are you using? windows, IOS? can't help much with apple.
new router? or first time passwording? anyway, there should be a little antenna shape in the bottom . click on that and find your router name. then click on that and should get an option to connect. at this point you should get a spot to fill in the router password you just created. if you have a router that has a button on top, it will give you an option to press that and the two should pair up automatically. Least that's the way it worked on my computer just now.
