Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Happy marathoning.
I'm slinking back in here for motivation. I need to get my butt out there more regularly.

Thanks Holly. I'm in again. Big soccer tournament this weekend. I guess I better get a long run during the week. Ugh.
MTA: 41.4 too much work and travel soccer.

I was skiing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming earlier this week and experienced altitude sickness. I had some very difficult runs on days where I also skied. But I think my issues are starting to resolve themself. After Saturday's 16-miler (8:08 pace), I'm optimistic about at least finishing Boston, if not setting any new PR's. Sunday's recovery Jog was also promising.
MTA: Congrats, IBUB! New marathon PR!
IBUB, congratulations on the marathon PR!
Here's my week:
Mon 10 mi (1:27) treadmill
Tue, Wed, Thu 8 mi (1:16, 1:09, 1:16)
Fri 9 mi (1:18) treadmill
Sat 0
Sun 13.1 (1:21:49) NYC half
Total: 56 miles ( 7 hrs 46 min)
I had my doubts about the race, as I'm still
recovering from the hilly 24 miler last Sat, 5hr flight on Friday,
and lack of sleep in general. 31 degrees at the start.
10th in the 45-49 AG (out of 1,030)
Thank's guys!
Hey--congratulations IBUB!
Just a dude.
Last week I took four days off to get the leg better. Ended up with only 22 miles.
It feels better, but not 100% yet. I'm hoping I can manage it though.
Guess I need one of them there free passes... /shrug
