Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thank you, Holly! I'm starting week 2 of a 3-week taper for the Twin Cities Marathon (October 5th).
If all goes according to plan, this week should look something like this:
Taper: Week 2 of 3.

MTA - 44.8. Not a good weekend for running. Too much soccer and household duties.

Thanks Holly and I hope you have a great 50k!
Don't know if I'll make 40 or not. I'm getting quality runs in and that's what counts. Concerned about the forecast for St. George on marathon day next Saturday, high of 84. Last year was cool and just generally perfect conditions for a P.R. The high was 71 but the average high for that date is 86 so this year will be more typical, it looks like. The elevation at the start is about a mile high so that will make for an enjoyable first half. That's the only drawback to running a downhill point-to-point race is that it keeps getting warmer as it gets later like in any marathon but more so because of the drop. Yes, I know it won't reach the high temp until the afternoon but I won't be finishing until about 11:00 because the start is at 6:45 and I'll be in the middle of the pack.
Gees, it's like I'm obsessed with the conditions or something!
