Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

MTA - 48 this week and broke my 50 streak with some tired legs and busy work. How do people run 70s and have a family life and work without being a 6 minute miler?

Just a dude.
I have a 5k to run on Saturday and some scheduling issues so this week will be a little lighter. That's probably good as I was a bit tired and sore from last week. Still think I'll make 40 though...

not a bad week, with a longish run and all, but
I wish I did something on Thursday, would've been a better total
Latent Runner
I didn't plan any runs for the week due to a heavy work week coupled with unsettled weather which almost always means extra horse duty. In the end I did *just* manage to get 40 miles in.
? miles
The trail was a bit sloppy making for slow progress; as I had hungry horses waiting for dinner, I turned at the four mile mark.
A ten hour work day and six hours in the barn; no running for today.
Another day just like Tuesday.
We had over a foot of snow between noonish and evening, and then everything was nicely glazed in a layer of ice. I stayed in with the horses yet again.
10 miles
The trail was kinda-sorta firm and I was just as itchy as the horses were to spin the wheels so out I went, trail conditions be damned.
12.5 miles
To put today's run in perspective, I ran 17 miles on this trail in early December in less than 3 hours; today it was covered in several inches of what was roughly akin to greasy mashed potatoes which equated to 3.5 hours to cover only 12.5 miles.
The mashed potatoes were even deeper and greasier today than yesterday; I bailed off the trail after only half of a mile and did the rest on the roads. Geez, ten miles on the roads was so easy I actually felt I had cheated when I filled out my log sheet.
