    DD #2 Update:

Pretty much went as suspected. She's having an allergic reaction.....we don't know to what. I have an excellent family doctor who really took the time and did due diligence in trying to identify what it could be.

Her hands had some swelling too, along with her ears.......Prescribed some Prednisone anti-inflammatory steriod. She's still pretty miserable but the Prednisone seems to be kicking in.

glad to hear she's on the mend - sounded like more than benadryl was needed

great mid-week runs here!!  i took it out for 6 miles in the beautiful sunshine - felt so great to be in shorts!!  my back was a little cranky and my legs a bit sluggish but overall was just happy to be out  there enjoying the moment!!

    happy st. patrick's day!!

Slo, your dd has been on my mind all day! Thanks for the update.

Holly, thanks for the offer.  Yes, let's get together!!

Partially packed.  Just wasting a few minutes mining data off my log before dinner. Oh, tapers are fun!!!

      GOALS 2011:
      LIVE!!!

Checking in towards the end of the day really gives you a different perspective.  It seems like so much is happening...clever dog posts, sick kids, workplace "assholyness" (heh heh)...oh, and some darn good running too!

A couple of folks asked about DW's training for her first sprint tri in a week and a half.  She's having a blast.  She's only had very limited road experience on her bike so I think that still intimidates her a bit.  But she's been doing some excellent training sessions, usually combining two of the three events.  A sprint tri involves very modest distances, so she's fine on the endurance front.  I think the big challenge will just be all the logistics, transfers, crowding, etc.  That'll all be new for her.  Should be fun.

Just a little leg-stretching 3.2 miles today, lollygagging all the way in nearly 70F heat.

Tramps, Sorry to see it warming up for you (weird thing to say)....good luck this weekend! I'm running the NYC HM on Sunday, and might see CNY there, if luck is on my side.

8.5 easy today, lovin' the weather. Walt.

          My Uterus Will Fall Out?

You all were busy, busy today!  I don't have time right now to go back and read the daily from today and yesterday.  Gotta dig in to the pile of transcription I have to do at home.

Did 10 miles w/strides today, and around Mile 7.5, my legs felt totally pooped.  I still managed to finish the 10 in around 1:40.  When I start to get slower than that, I'll know there's a problem.

Went and saw my MAT therapist today.  More very interesting discussions re barefoot running, the proper way to do lunges, using resistance bands for training while doing lunges, etc., nutrition.  I could sit and talk to this guy for hours.  He gave me a new idea for a running food - beans (like black beans) mushed up and spread in a corn tortilla.  Am gonna give it a go this weekend.

            Take care, peeps ~

10 MOH, 8:13 avg pace. I can't believe how easy it feels to run on dry pavement. Need to work on dialing down the pace though... this is like two tempo days in a row, this one on harder terrain.
              Mile 1  8:18
              Mile 2  8:03
Mile 3  8:41 (this is half mile of a really big hill...)
              Mile 4  7:59
              Mile 5  8:10
              Mile 6  8:08
              Mile 7  8:08
Mile 8  7:54 (had the downhill, reverse of mile 3)
Mile 9  8:12 (so starts the last 2 miles uphill to home)
              Mile 10 8:39
              Mile  .11  8:31

Temps were around 28, a little breezy on the way back. Amazing how even with the warm temps a little breeze makes your chin very cold! Ok, easy (and I mean it) 5 or so tomorrow... and no hills!

                Wow, Erika.

That is a fast run.  Nice.

Plan to run later in the sunshine... need to go to DD2's school this morning.  Smile

I'm sad that I didn't get a run in today.  Sad   My stomach was really upset with me... maybe something I ate?  Not thinking I'm sick, that's for sure... but running seemed really unlikely.  I have a half marathon on Saturday that I do NOT want to be sick for... I was sick last year when I ran it.

Anyone here running the National?  A bunch of us RAers are meeting up afterwards at a place called Mr. Henry's in DC.  Let me know if you want to meet us.
