Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Suffering from a moderate bout of achillie tendonitis (Acute from Volleyball night on 9/8) - So mileage will be down again this week. It usually takes 4-6 weeks of no speed, soft surface running and treating achillies before it goes away. Timing is horrible - But when is it ever good?
Day Plan Actual Commentary Monday Easy 6/6 TM - Achillies cannot take pavement Tuesday Long trail 5/25 on IA trail Skipped the road section at start of race and ended up with 4:10 for the 25. @ 1 hour of night running on a pretty technical section Wednesday easy 6 TM - Ouch achillies is taking 4-5 miles just to numb out Thursday Medium 6/20 Maybe 20 on TM - 20 went pretty good, I am tired of running really slow ... and on the TM Friday Easy 6 TM - Achillies feels like it should in week #2 of 6 in healing process Saturday 6 hour race 42 in 5:53 (No partial laps) 6 hour race on dirt - Family event - DD#1(11) DD#2(7) wife and I hope to get 100k total between all of us - Family made 72.8 miles Sunday Easy off Achillies the size of a grapefruit Total 122 115-120 total or whatever my achillies will let me do

Hi Holly! Welcome home! Thanks for continuing to do this!
DoppleBock--I've been dealing with Achilles issues for about 15 years, now--it sucks! And I've never run over 100 miles in a week...you're amazing. Good luck, man!
So...here's my plan for this week...

41 miles this week. Instead of my typical nightly jog, I tossed in a some faster miles on a TM.
And I seen your post on FB about your marathon. Great job & Congrats on what looked to be a challenging elevation profile.
Philippians 4:13.
Goose Bumps 6 hour race - Goose Island in Stoddard WI (La Crosse Area) - A race to raise awareness about Lupus.
We are the for a friend and the cause -
Thanks - I usually only get once every couple of years - Not chronic, but because of something silly I do (Like a runner playing intense Volleyball for 2 hours). Since it is acute, I usually can get to a fully receovered state in 6 weeks while I run slow on soft surfaces. I hope that is the case this time.
Didn't get a chance to post this week but I did eek out a 40-mile week...exactly.
Be safe. Be kind.
