40/40 Thread for Week Ending 5/18 (Read 526 times)

    For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run or aspire to run 40 miles/week. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard... Here's what I have for last week's tally. If I missed anyone or got something wrong, just let me know.

      Hi Holly, I'll play since I seem to be well into the 40s again and doing fine. I see you've planned a hill run for us on Thursday! 5/12---6 miles easy---6.4 5/13---9 miles (3 mile wu---weekly 5k race---3 mile cd)---9.7 including 5k in 22:21 5/14---6-8 miles easy---8.5 at 8:30 pace 5/15---7 with Holly Smile---6 with Holly on Holly's Hill 5/16---OFF---3 mile walk with my husband 5/17---15 miles with the Js---6.8 miles with two of the Js--long tomorrow 5/18---5-7 miles with strides---14.8 in 1:58:26 Total-48-50 miles--52 miles push-ups, planks, squats, sit-ups etc. 3x week CNY
        Tapering but should be just enough to get in. M - rest T - 8 W - 0 T - 8 F - 10 S -0 S- 14 Total:40

            Thanks Holly Smile Hopefully I will feel better this week...I need some speed workouts that I could not muster up last week being sick Mon - 10 Mile tempo run - New PR 1:12:55 - 7:18 pace Smile Tues - 10 easy miles - 1:27:00 - 8:42 ave pace Weds - 7 easy miles Thurs - 7 easy miles again - legs tired Friday - Rest Sat - 21 miles - 3:17:45 - 9:28 easy pace. Unexpected, but felt good. Plan was for about 13 to 16 miles or so, but just kept going. Sun - 7 easy miles Total - 62 miles - New weekly PR Smile Tim

            Running has given me the courage to start, the determination to keep trying, and the childlike spirit to have fun along the way - Run often and run long, but never outrun your Joy of running!

              Last Week of School!! Time to find something for those kids to do all day... Was tired at the end of last week, so may cut back a little this week. I'll post the minimums I'll try to cover as Plan.

                Thanks Holly, This week I will run less, maybe 40 miles. My leg really bothered me at TIMTAM. I will try not to push myself to much at the Delaware Marathon this Sunday. I realize, that my leg will not be 100% until Summer when I take some time off from marathoning. Monday - 2 miles Wednesday - 7.70 miles Thursday - 3.30 miles Friday - 2.00 miles Sunday - 26.20 miles Delaware Marathon Total - 41.20 miles TomD

                                Hi Holly! I haven't been around since last fall but doing a 12 hour run with francesca yesterday got me to 45 for the week, . . . and put her down for an amazing 84.2 starting the week of with a half marathon and getting 51 miles in the 12 hour. We'll see you again in two weeks for a scheduled 100K'er. thanks. have a very merry morning and day. Smile
