Running has given me the courage to start, the determination to keep trying, and the childlike spirit to have fun along the way - Run often and run long, but never outrun your Joy of running!

Thanks, Holly. The dog is a female Black Lab about 16 months old (a "rescue" dog). She prefers to trot along at 10:30 - 11:20 min/mile pace, but someone told me I shouldn't "run" her like that until about 2 years of age. So for now we just walk. Plan - take it easier this week, with a long run on Sunday. Mon -- 3 miles "easiest", roads + paths; 1/2 hr walk w/dog. Tue -- 5 miles easy, roads + hs track; 1 hr walk w/dog. Wed - 4 miles easy, roads+paths, new shoes; 1 hr walk w/dog. Thur - 3 miles easy, asphalt paths; 1 hr walk w/dog. Fri --- off, 1.5 hrs walk w/dog Sat --- 1 mile "easiest" ; 3/4 hr walk w/dog Sun -- 26.2 miles, roads, easy most of the way - kicked it up a notch at 21-22 miles; ------- 1 hr walk w/dog Total 42.2 miles
It is Friday and this is the first minute I have had time to get over to this thread! Yikes! Well I have at least managed to keep running in the meantime. Bill alas some weeks are just better than others. Here is hoping next Sunday you get to write GREAT WEEK in your comments.
