For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

(I've been slack on reporting in 40-40, but it's been all but one week this year at 40+)
This week, 44 capped of with half marathon.
6, 6, 7 (with 4X3 min reps), 6, rest, 4, and half in 1:22:37, 1st in age group, 19th overall.
Just a dude.
I ended up with 42.9 for the week, including a fartlek, a fairly quick long run, and some strides. Things are finally close to back to normal I think.
Thanks!

Getting back in shape... Just need it to be a skinnier shape...

Mon 0Tue, Wed 8 mi (1:03, 0:58) treadmillThu 6.9 mi (1:03), central parkFri, Sat 0Sun 9.5 miles (57:51), Cherry Blossom "10 miler"Total: 32 miles ( 4 hrs)The Cherry Blossom 10 miler was perfect this year.Excellent weather, all the cherry trees in full bloom, and I ran my dream time of 57 minutes. A PR for sure, but not because of the fast time, but because the coursewas half a mile short due to a car accident. So it wasan automatic PR, my first time racing a not-too-populardistance of 9.47 miles. The only real outcome was 3rdin the AG (out of 727)Seriously, I used to dream of running this exact timefor 10 miles. And now I got it! Oh, the irony
What a great week!
