Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks Holly!!!

Fri *podiatrist eval today cleared me for running as much as body will allow - yay! Apparently I don't have plantar fasciitis, but plantar fibromas and they're here to stay. Learned how to tape arches for Big Runs - yay!
Sat 20-ish 20-trail - last long run before the marathon went very well; feeling undertrained for the race, but there are worse ways to be - like injured!
Total: 42
Don't make excuses for why you can't get it done.
Focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen.

Injury-free would be good but that run I did Saturday was dumb. If you look at my log and the elevation in particular, you'll see what I mean. That much climb and descent was enough to give me a full-blown case of PF. I'll check back in on this thread at some point, hopefully in the fall or winter.
