Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Thank you, Holly! I will probably need a free pass this week -- stomach flu has kept me from running all week ... except to the bathroom. You asked about the ski race in last week's summary, and I could go on and on about what a wonderful experience it was. I wish I had some pictures to post. There were world class skiers from all over the world (an Italian guy won the race by about 1 second), but amongst everyday skiers, the greatest sense of pride was from those who have done this race many times. I finished right behind an older gentleman who had skied at least 35 prior Birkebeiner races (each being ~30 - 34 miles long). And the records show that I was beaten by an 85-yr-old man from Alaska! That's just awesome! Anyhow, when life gives you lemons (winter in MN), you make lemonade (ski in WI!).
Hi Mike! Great to see that you are running again! After I'm done with this stomach thing, we'll have to get out for another run. Temps could reach the 50's or higher in the next week! I ran with the MNRed team over the weekend. Great group of people.
MTA: Yikes! I just went back and saw that the 12 miles yesterday almost killed you. I hope your heel heals soon!
Monday - Thursday: 0 miles.
Friday: 9.0 miles on TM. Feeling MUCH better!
Saturday: 6.0 miles outside, w/ 10x100m strides
Sunday: 13.0 miles outside -- beautiful spring-like weather.
Total: 28.0 miles
Hey Bob--yeah, I missed a day of work and a week of running because of that stomach thing. I have never made so many trips to the bathroom and it was just liquid...pretty gross.
Holly, thank you!
