Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

I'm out this week recovering. Thanks for keeping this thread going, Holly! It is one of the keys to keeping my training consistent week to week.
BTW -- I heard/read that you are looking for a 50-something race for next year? I hope MikeE hasn't caused you to rule out Minnesota as a possibility! There is a 50K trail run at a Minnesota ski area in early July (the Afton Trail Run). I've done the 25K there the last 2 years, but I'm thinking about doing the 50K next year as a way to celebrate turning 50 myself. Just a thought. It's hilly and scenic, although probably not as tough as the Vermont thing you all did. I am still in awe!

Hey!
Mon 0Tue 10.2 mi (1:28)Wed 9.3 mi (1:21)Thu 10.2 mi (1:16)Fri 6.6 mi (0:46)Sat 0Sun 13.1 mi (1:22:44) Staten Island HalfTotal: 49 miles ( 6 hrs 13 min)easy week for me, tapering for Staten Island half.we got lucky with the weather today,45 degrees at the start. my 10k splitwas a very enthusiastic 37:56.final time of 1:22:44 was good for 5thin the 45-49 AG (out of 504)
I had two recovery weeks following Equinox and back up to 40 last week. Feeling okay. Saturday was the first day that I felt good. I did an 8 miler on Skyline Ridge, Secret Trail-After Hours trail. I'm going to miss that run!
Went skiing for about an hour on Sunday! Go figure. Other than being strewn with birch seeds and leaves the trails were very good. Fast snow too.
One week to go here before my migration.
