Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Consistently Slow

SCHEDULE 2016--
The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

I'm in. Hoping to get the knee back to normal. Have a 1 mile road race on the 4th that should be fun. It typically has some really fast people show up (Winner was 4:18 last year) so I expect to get blown away. Ah well...
My week:

T - 5.9 Easy

Sorry I couldn't make Afton, SubDood. DW had other plans for me. I remember doing that race one year--about 5 miles into it I was in the lead and thinking about winning it. 5 miles later I was barely hanging on and just praying that I would finish.
Sorry you weren't there, too, Mike. Still looking forward to meeting you and running with you.
Afton is tough! I did it nice and slow last year, 2 weeks after running Grandma's. This year, I started out way in the back thinking I would take it easy. 2 miles in, I felt good and started to push the pace. When I finished, a woman asked my age. When I said, "49," the woman said, "Ugh, 1 year older and you'd be the Grand Master champion!" Which means, (a) I didn't win anything, and (b) I look older than I think I do.
My legs are still sore from those hills!
