"As a dreamer of dreams and a travelin' man I have chalked up many a mile. Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks, And I've learned much from both of their styles." ~ Jimmy Buffett
"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit. "No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."”
Meh, $5 is $5...
8/8 Smyrna Parks 5k
9/7 Franklin Classic 10K
9/12 Run Chik'n Run
9/26 Shelby Bottoms Boogie 15K (maybe)
10/10 Octoberfest 5K - stick around after and drink beer.
10/17 Indianapolis Marathon - get the BQ out of the way, then get pissed drunk and pound German food downtown.
Dec. - Throw down at either Memphis Marathon or Rocket City. Probably Memphis followed by the Flying Saucer.
My schedule now centers around drinking, as it should be. I may slip in a beer mile in November for the hell of it and redemption.
I don't know where the Cougar Crawl is but I need to go there. Best. Name. Ever.
The race isn't nearly as cool as it sounds. It's a 5K for my son's school, Goodpasture Christian School. Last year it was held in Centennial Park and run on the same course as Runnin' to Beat the Blues (which is certified). It was chip timed by Team Magic. The race is poorly advertised outside of Goodpasture, and they rarely give much notice about it. I don't think they start preparing for it until after school starts back.
Here's a web site for last year's race: http://www.goodpasture.org/cougar-crawl-coming?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true. Notice that the "registration form" is just a PNG.
Having said that, there are plenty of ladies there. Last year Emily Hardin won it in 18:34. A white Leon Phelps could do some damage.

You raise a good point. I am on the prowl on again...

11/22 Monkey *sigh* (3:52:33, 1st Masters, pink monkey)
Plans after this are still in formation. I may not do a marathon until Houston in January...I'd like to have a summer/fall racing season that doesn't overlap with marathon training for a change so that I could, shockingly, focus on shorter distances and not get burned out.
cripes.

No marathon until January? For real? None?
Do you know of any worth turning out for Trent?

Stumpjump
Don't get lost.
I thought I might see the stumpjump on your list, Trent.
I gotta work that weekend...although perhaps I could switch...depends on whether I am splitting town later in the month.
October is a busy month for me, with the next weekend possibly in Louisville, the following one running a marathon or two and the following one possibly in Portland.
Would SJ hurt my chances of getting a PR in Indy/Louisville two weeks later?
