Running Has Rocked My World (Read 85 times)

Yesterday was a fine example of how running has changed me and my world. My wife was sick yesterday, and to make a long story short, her car was at Lincoln Mall, and I had to get it. My first thought was "Maybe I can call my Dad for a ride up there." THEN i thought, "I'll just run." I then proceeded to run the 6 miles to the mall.
I enjoyed the run up 116---hilly--one loooooongggg hill there.

This isn't the first time I've chosen to "just run" instead of grabbing a ride. Feels empowering.

If gas (regular) prices reach $4.00 per gallon here in RI, I am going to be doing a lot more running to errands too. It was $3.98 in New York yesterday!

Hey Chris!

Yeah, it cost me 40.00 to fill up my Toyota Corolla--a new experience. Luckily my car gets near 40 mpg on the highway.

While I was running to Lincoln Mall, I realized how spoiled I've become running on the bike trail (or Lincoln Woods). The car exhaust was crazy, I felt every car wanted to hit me, and I knew at any moment a dog would come out of a driveway and maul my marathon dreams away.

Didn't happen.

Oooh, my mind.....the horror
