It is Monday! Start of the work week for some (maybe middle of the work week for others?). I got out for 6 miles this am. Sluggish in the beginning. Hopefully not a sign of things to come for the week. Finishing up my current role at work this week and transitioning to a new role next week.
QOTD: Do you have a comfortable mileage for a month's period? in other words, what is your target range of monthly mileage?
I am still trying to figure this out. My theory is 120-160. Last year when I went closer to 200, it did not treat me well. I will be testing this theory out the rest of this year.
Have a great day!
My favorite day of the week is RUNday
running under the BigSky
we must have been typing at the same time got a nice early 5 mile run in w/ my old boss, great run and chat
qotd: I generally look more closely at the week vs month, I shoot for 30-40 miles/week, so that should put me in the 120-160 range

Hi all,
I have an insane few weeks coming up. Not ideal to be training right now, but I'm still at the lower end of things so I suppose that's a plus. I forsee a lot of early morning runs in my future....
I'm planning to get in 6 tonight plus a game of ultimate frisbee. After 10 + 13 this weekend, I should be resting today. Maybe I'll just do that instead.
QOTD: I think around 150 is pretty comfortable for me. 100 is too low, 200 can be grueling for me. If I hit all my runs for July, I should be at almost 150 exactly.

Slept in this a.m., tired from yesterday's hard 12. Will probably do an easy 5 at lunch today to recover.
QOTD: so far I think we're all in the same range. I shoot for 35-40 a week, so 140-160 a month. I'm planning to ramp up over the next couple of months for some October races, but this seems to be a good steady state.
Good morning all! Not sure what's on tap today. Likely 6-7 miles this evening with the beast on a trail some place. Ran 2 hours yesterday midday on the hilly trails of NoldeForest midday. I guess the "cool" front did it's job as temps were only in the mid to upper 80's. Followed that up with yardwork, bush trimming, weeding, and a plunge in the pool. The weeds are awful this summer I suppose from all the rain.
QOTD: 200 miles a month is a good target for me these days, though I don't specifically seek out monthly mileage goals. It's more of a checkpoint to how things are going. I am slightly under that for an average right now.
In dog beers, I've only had one.
Good morning all!
SRD for me
QOTD I'd like to be around 160-180 per month, however I'm slowly building up, I just run what I feel like.
Rest day today. Good running yesterday and Saturday.
QOTD: Right now, I am not really keeping up with weekly or monthly mileage. I am just running and reflecting on individual runs as they happen. However, I am going to start back recording information about runs next month, and I am going to completely distance myself from mileage and use time and effort as my metric. So far this summer, I have focused on running hard for shorter distances out to around 45 minutes to an hour. I started creeping that hour up yesterday with an extra 23 minutes. I planned on 30 minutes, but I finished the loop a little quicker than I expected, which is rare for me. I am usually behind my schedule of what I think I can do. I was told a couple of years ago to get away from the drudgery of weekly mileage and focus on time and effort. It has been a slow process, but I think I have it licked now.

10 trail miles yesterday. The first 5 were with my dog, and the second 5 were with 3 friends that I ran into. They also had dogs, and my dog sure loved running as a pack. That was her first time running with other dogs, and they all got a long great. I never run on Mondays, but I will surely jump into the pool for a swim this evening (best craig's list buy ever!).
QOTD: It varies depending upon weather, my health, if I'm training for a race, and what season it is. In the cooler months, if all goes well, about 100 miles is where I like to be at. When it is hot, raining wildfire ash, or my guts are giving me grief, I'll take whatever mileage I can get.
Here's a pic from yesterday's run. I'm the nerdy-looking white chick on the left, and that's my dog, Bonny, with the pack on.
SRD for me today.
qotd: It depends of the time of year and whether I have a race on the horizon. These last few months I've been in the 200 to 240 range, which is a little on the high side for me.
tbd.

SRD today.
QOTD: Joint wise, I do best around 40-45 mpw (160-180 mpm), but will spend a few weeks above 55 mpw (220+ mpm) depending on race cycle.
“Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!
Hello all.
I took it kinda easy this weekend, figured I need to dial it back to give the legs a break. They were feeling pretty beat down last week. Got in 10 with ~2200 ft of climbing on Sat. with the dog. Skipped the planned 8 mile run and went for an easy hike with the family on Sunday. It was a nice day to wander around the mountain top. Plan to get in 4ish tonight, destination still unknown.
sugnim - looks like a great spot to run, plenty of cool water for the dogs(and humans...)
QOTD: It varies quite a bit depending on if I have a race coming up or not. My body seems to like somewhere in the 150-180 range, above that and I start to notice quite a bit of fatigue in the legs.

My god Texas is HOT.
thats all. No running.
QOTD: Comfort level is right around 120-140. Would like to get around 150-160.

Haha I can't even imagine what Texas is like after the hell Pennsylvania went through last week! I am thinking of summering in Alaska henceforth.

Back from the Bridger Wilderness through hike with the Parents. . Ran 3.4 miles on Sunday in Elko Nevada. First run in a looooooong time.
I'll either start a new thread with pictures or add them to trail porn...

Nice and easy 5 miles this morning including some hill repeats, not a big workout as I just took it easy and enjoyed a nice sweat. Temp in the low eighties but felt warmer. Supposed to have a front roll thru tonight so hopefully something long and efforting tomorrow with the cooler weather. Weights in the cave in a bit.
Sugnim--pretty spot.
Rocky--next time take me.
QOTD-- I envy some of your mileage. I used to feel the best at around 45mpw but these days it is at 30mpw.
