Just thought I'd share because it is running related and made me happy!
My four-year old has a pre-school classmate who did a triathlon today, so he wanted to do the same. We picked biking, climbing three trees, and running a mile as the events.
About 70% through the mile he turns to me and says "Daddy, I'm really happy that I exist for real". Now that's what running does to you!
Does anyone else have young runner stories?
As an aside, I just looked up kid's triathlons, and it seems my son had misunderstood what his friend was doing: the normal distances for U6 are 1 mile bike, 0.25 mile run, and 50 yards swim.

That's it! Nuff said.
Thanks for sharing

My kids did a kids triathlon and enjoyed the experience but never really wanted to train for another one. Some kids (and parents) can get real competitive!
There is a lot of wisdom in kids.

Haha, we're exploring all four combinations of exist and for real:
Exist and for real: DS and myself
Exist but not for real: Ironman
Doesn't exist but was for real: Johnny Cash
Doesn't exist and was not for real: mythological figures
