Birdwell

    Morning folks!

got in a little time at the gym cross training this morning. I'll head out for a little speed work this evening.

    qotd: pass

MTA: answer to Jamie's QOTD re: car stickers

nope. I know what I've done, don't care if anyone else does.

    dpc3

Struggled through 5k so I packed clothes to double up and try again at lunch time.

      Bird: Enjoy the speed!

QOTD: I had one when I was running, oh well PASS

Another rest day.  I am just going to take my time getting back into things.  Feet aren't so great.  I may need to see a specialist.  I dunno.

QOTD: Car Stickers - yes or no?

No for us.  We've talked about it and even one day when I do a 100 miler I still don't think I will care about the "100" on the car.  DW and I had the conversation one day and she progressively went up.  "what about 13.1?" "No", What about 26.2?" "what for, I don't run marathons anymore." "Ok how about 50?" "Na, most people don't know or care and I have no need to brag".  "How about a 100 someday", "Prolly not but we'll see"

We got a sticker at Hyner but not something I would put on the car.

        Have a great day everyone!

My favorite day of the week is RUNday

Ran an easy 4 this morning. 4 days to the big race. I'm freaking out.

Not a qotd but to anyone that has run a 100. 50 is my longest run. How do you get to that point in a race and say...yup my legs can do this for another 50? I'm just trying to picture how I should feel at midway. I feel like I'll be there mentally but my legs will pretty much be near death.

Bird- enjoy the speed work later

dpc3- have fun on the lunch break run. I should start doing that.

            Good Morning,

Maybe 4-5 after work.  Either something easy or nothing...I'm taking it easy this week.

QOTD: I don't have stickers and I don't consider myself a sticker on your car kinda guy...but I do like seeing them on other peoples cars.  There is a lady in my neighborhood who has a 26.2 sticker on her car.  If I see her I wave.  I think the only time anyone would "get" the sticker is when I have it parked at a trail.  I'd consider it after completing a 50 or 100...it's not a bad thing.

            **Ask me about streaking**

Morning all. I'll get in about 6 tonight after work. It's funny how running has become a regular commuting strategy for me after work....it's faster than the bus! If only we had showers, I would do it before work too.

QOTD: Guilty as charged (car magnet.) Last year I ran 3 road marathons and was SO pumped about it. Now, I'm like "eh" about 26.2 so maybe I'll get rid of it. My car is kinda old and tacky anyway, so what's a little bit extra tackiness at the end of the day? Joking

              Occasional Runner

I did an easy run on backroads. I'm in Alberta and I don't know this area so I wanted to stay close to the hotel. It was uneventful.

QOTD: Yeah, I have all sorts of stickers on my truck and most are tied to running. I have my LT100 sticker that they give away in the race packets and I think I have the AR50 sticker on there too...I dunno...I switch them up a lot. I think they're a great conversation starter when you pull into a parking lot for a race.

                Sandy-2

Sore throat this morning so I slept in.  My typical bi-yearly sore throat guess.  The plan is to do 5 after work though.

qotd:  I don't have any stickers, but I do have a "Western States 100" license plate holder thing.  My DD has a matching "Tevis Cup 100" plate holder on her VW Bug (right next to her "Hello Kitty" sticker, LOL).

                  tbd.

                  running under the BigSky

Morning All!  Had a great run yesterday afternoon, temps were in the upper 30's, but the sun was shining- the snow is about all gone (yet again! Big grin), but didn't have any problem finding mud

qotd: I have a Bridger Ridge Run brand looking decal- just says BRR  and a Get Lost (in Montana) decal

                    Faster Than Your Couch!

                      Good Morning,

I was trying to keep this a rest day, but the sun is shining, and you guys have all been out, so I must, too. Wink Planning on some nice trail miles, trail it is, distance won't matter.

Birdwell: Have fun with the speedwork!

dpc: Hope your run later will go better!

Jamie: Good luck with the feet! Hope they'll heal up on their own soon again!

Tmo: Rule #1: Don't panic! (Rule#2: Always have a towel with you! - anyone else thinking "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is a treasure full of advice for trail runners?) Just get your gear ready, then go - you are ready!

                      Jamezilla: Enjoy the easy week!

T&C: No showers, no run to work, it's bad. But at least you get to run one way, great regular workout!

Kelly: I don't want to smirk, but with your proven sense of direction, it might be better to stay within the boundaries of civilization, unless you are planning on running 100+ miles... Big grin

Sandy: Hope your throat will clear up soon! Love the "Hello Kitty"-sticker - and the Tevis 100 next to it!

warden: No snow, oh no, what happened?! Those anti-traction devices on your shoes look awesome! Cool

QOTD: Guilty, too, I have one lone "Ultra marathoner" sticker on my car. But just because I did not realize the same sticker was also available as a magnet...

Sometimes I think it is not fair that only my hobby gets to show off on the family car - but if everybody in the family put their sticker on, the car would be covered all over!

                      Run for fun.

I'm tired today so it's SRD or maybe an USRD (unscheduled). Maybe it was the evening bike ride in addition to the 14 miler yesterday. Weights and elliptical though. It's gonna be so nice around here after today that resting today seems like a good choice so I have the energy to take advantage of the upcoming forecast.

QOTD-- My old Subaru that finally had to be moved along with over 270k on it had a DNF sticker. I was quite proud of that. So I should go to Cafe press and order another one to put on my current vehicle. Otherwise no stickers of any kind.  Oops, I forgot--during the recall stuff happening around here recently we had the appropriate sticker on my wife's car. Couldn't put one on my car as I would use my car for work going to jobsites and customers places so that wouldn't be too smart.

                        Sue

Planing 6 after work with the new girl.  I was going to take her to different spots but figured I'd stay at the park for awhile so she can get comfortable there.

MT Warden:  Mud...yuck.  oes not look like a fun run.

QOTD:  My sticker says "My church is the woods"  or "The woods are my church"  one of those.  I like seeing 50K and above because then I know they are most likely trailrunners.  Like Kelly said it's a good way to strike a conversation.

                          LB2

3 mies last night, and I will probably do the same tonight, maybe 4 to 5. We'll see. I have been on about a 6 week break from running during which time I have only run shorter runs and done a lot of hiking while turkey hunting. It has been enjoyable. I am really thinking of taking a break from the longer stuff and not running anything longer than a 20 mile race. I was looking forward to Cajun Coyote, and I will be there running one of the events. I just don't think I want to run more than about 20 miles anymore. That may change, but we will see. I am just tired of being in some sort of training cycle. I think they call it burn out.

QOTD: I do have a 100 mile sticker on my truck, and I mainly have that to pass people on the road with 26.2 stickers and flip them off as I go by while pointing to the 100 mile sticker on my truck (I am just joking). Of course, I could also have a DNF sticker on my truck. I would pass people with 100 mile stickers, flipping them off while pointing at my DNF sticker. I can take them or leave them. I do like to see stickers that are 50K or greater because, like FTYC, I assume they are trail runners.

Rest day for me, will walk a few miles during lunch to keep them stretched out. Excited to go visit my brother later today, dont get to see him much anymore, time to bust out the good IPAs.

QOTD: No stickers for me, Im a clean freak when it comes to my car. I wash my car when a bird poops on it, I think a sticker would bring out too much of my obsessive compulsion to clean my car.

                              Daydreamer1

I really would like to get out for a run but I doubt that will happen. I have a Biology test tomorrow morning and a math test tomorrow night. The Bio teacher is nice but not a very good teacher, hence I need to study a lot for her tests. And Algebra just plain sucks so that will keep me inside instead of out running. Unless, of course, someone wants to volunteer to take my math test for me Smile.

QOTD: Yep, I'm guilty. I have two on now and may add the third from Hyner. For me it's partly about advertising the race, more so then telling people that I did it.
