Soggy Wednesday (Read 28 times)

Morning folks!  Got in a gym session yesterday.  Fast intervals on the treadmill with a short session on weights.  I will get out later today with a friend, hopefully not during one of the thunderstorms in the forecast.  I will be wearing less clothes as usual for this time of year since it is said to get near 60*!!

TT- I hope Marley is feeling better and can get out running soon.

And belated Birthday wishes to Blarg and TnC!

qotd:  What was your most memorable or favorite run of the year?  Mine was a 4 mile run around Jordan Pond in Acadia NP, in Maine.   Incredible scenery, lots of rocks (and a long section of narrow boardwalk).  I followed up that run with a swim in one of the nearby lakes during which a loon popped above the surface just feet away.  It was a good day.

My plans were thwarted this morning. Jo drove to the gym while I ran down there. 4 miles into my run, she pulled up in the truck and told me the gym was opening late this morning, so we rode home together. I grabbed the dog and went into the mountains for a peaceful run. It wasn't peaceful at all. I ran into 17 trail runners, when I would normally see one or two at the most. There was one Daisy Chain (proper term for a group of 4 or more female trail runners) of 9 women and another of 4 later on. They must be worried about holiday weight gain. I could hear them cackling before I could even see their headlamps. I don't like to see my trails that crowded.

All told, I got 10 miles in.

QOTD: Definitely my solo 100 mile run on the White Rim Trail. It was a surreal experience.

I got rained out last night and it looks that way again today.

QOTD; There were 4 of us taking turns pushing TJ for 13.1 miles.

Running dark and early this morn. Did my 10k road loop working on a little pace and effort. Cruised along pretty good. I too saw a few people out in their cute jogging suits. Not the usual early focused people I usually see on that early morning route. These people were woefully overdressed but their outfits sure looked nice.

QOTD--Probably a 10 mile loop I ran in the Sylvania wilderness in Upper Michigan. It's only a half hour from my cabin but I don't run in there that often but should. All old growth forest, past gin clear lakes, and sweet single track. Not much rock but a whole bunch of roots. This particular day was just magical.

Morning Trailers!  I only work a half a day today and then headed for Missoula.  If I get there early enough I'll sneak in a run; little sore from strength training last night- my "5x5" program has you adding weight every workout, I've been at it ~ 3 weeks and it's starting to get interesting now

qotd: probably one of my overnighters in the Crazies, combining backpacking w/ trail running has really been a great experience for me; coming in second was the Devil's Backbone- 25 miles along the spine of the Gallatin, in one of the most rugged wildernesses in the lower 48-gorgeous!

Hi All.  Just checkin' in.  I am alive.  I have not run in 2+ months.  Not sure when I will again.  Maybe soon.

              Happy belated b-day wishes!

QOTD: I haven't had many runs at all in 2014.  But I will say my last one.  Oct. 17th.  It was a mere 4 miles but it was gorgeous foliage on a section of the AT I have not been on before.  The run wasn't great (i.e. was slow, legs did not feel great) but the simple fact that it was beautiful and I was by myself just soaking it in.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas tomorrow.  Be safe!

My favorite day of the week is RUNday

My holiday weight gain is coming along nicely.  I think I ate half of wheel of brie last night.

I still got nothing.  I will finally do a test run on my foot tomorrow though.

QOTD: My first run without walk breaks post-surgery.  Best 3 miles ever.

                Running is dumb.

Hi Jamie!  We were all asking about you a few weeks ago.  Good to see you!  Smile

She is feeling a lot better, but still lazing around.  I figure it is probably wise to give her this rainy day off.  We will probably run early tomorrow before DW is up.

QOTD: Most memorable or favorite run...  Hard to choose, but a particular sunrise on one of my normal routes comes to mind.

Picked up oldest 2 kiddos from the airport at 2:00 am.  Their flight was delayed over an hour for bad weather.  Got home at 4:00 am and decided URD was in order for today.  I'll get a nap in later before church.

                      Merry Christmas.

QOTD:  My run in Utah where I dressed up as a woman and ran in a Daisy Chain with several other woman just to block the trail and piss off people.

Actually, it the 22 miler DW and I did in the Teton's in September.

Have stuff for lunch time run..but if the rain hits as expected I will blow it off.  We've decided to head to the coast for Christmas and camp.  Heading out early tomorrow till Sunday.  Will run the beach a couple of times, maybe.  Last time I was there the tide was too high everyday to run it.

QOTD:  Shit my memory is horrible so I am going to go with last Sunday.  I ran my favorite trail and it was so green, it was just beautiful.

Here some pictures I took...enjoy the trail Porn and have a Merry Christmas...

Mandy was with you, right?  Just after she ate her wheel of brie, perhaps?  It's nice that you can take the day off and enjoy nature!

Sitting at work today until 8 am tomorrow.  Things really suck today. Management are being idiots as well as some coworkers. People sick with bronchitis, coughing all over the place, they can't hardly talk but will they stop smoking? Hell no .

QOTD: My year kind of sucked so nothing memorable to talk about.
