Time for a night run... meteor shower (Read 30 times)

Uh oh... now what?

For most here in the U.S., get out, look sort of northeasterly in the sky,

knowing where Cassiopeia is will help, the Perseid meteor shower

    is almost in peak viewing.

I've been waiting for these.  So I went out to look.

      It was cloudy and hazy.

      Again.

      Perhaps next time.

"C" is for cookie.  That's good enough for me.

As I was coming home from the bar I looked up and the sky was clear! A miracle in SE AK. After a bit of neck craning I laid myself down on the gravel driveway and enjoyed the stars. I didn't actually see the meteor shower, but I did catch a few skattered falling starts.

My trail group did a night run Friday night.  The sky was clear and dark, no moon, and the night was still.  We saw at least a couple dozen meteors.  It was pretty darn cool.
