SRD for me - having a lazy week before going to the Grand Canyon this weekend.
QOTD: Only long race I've done (50K-ish) was self-supported point-to-point with no aid stations or drop bags, so no wisdom on this end. If available I would probably use them to avoid having to carry as much Tailwind and probably for an extra shirt, pair of socks and shoes (depending on conditions).
I ran a mi e 10 last night and I am contemplating 20 later this evening.
I have only run a 50k and they did transport drop bags placed after exiting the river. I had a bag there but only used the g2 in it. I would think drop bags are great for a back up if the crew is delayed. I like carrying a lot of stuff with me in my hydration pack just in case I need it. I also like the idea of a waist pack because it is eeasily accessible.
