Spoiling lace_up's thunder? (Read 74 times)

Uh oh... now what?

    I hope not.

He finished Comrades: 10:19:01 -- a gazillion miles from home, another hemisphere, jet lag,

    and still very well done.

    Congratulations Kelly (and posse).

      Awesome!

      Occasional Runner

They say this was the toughest race in recent memory due to the weather conditions. I was a few minutes off my 50k PR when I hit that mark, I still had a decent race by the 50 mile mark, but the conditions got the best of me between 50 miles and the finish.

I'm going to get a RR written today.

Congratulations!!  Can't wait to read your RR.

          Occasional Runner

The entire race is televised here in South Africa and is the largest televised sporting event in the country. The big news during the race this year was the level of difficulty due to the weather conditions during an uphill year. Its being called "The hardest Comrades in history". Personally, I've never seen so much carnage during a race. Ambulances were hauling runners away as fast as they could get back and more up. It was an amazing scene.
