Sandy-2

Sandy-- Congratulations!  Does this involve an international move, too?  Or will it keep you in Texas?

:-)     really good question...  in the last two weeks I've been offered moves to London and Asia, but then in the end I'm staying put.  But I think before the end of this year I'll be living somewhere in Asia.  Stay tuned, there may be an UTMF in my future.

2/17/24 - Forgotten Florida 100 Mile, Christmas, FL

Easy 4.5 mile lunch run. Oddly, I am running the horse trails in the neighborhood rather than hitting the bigger hills on every run ... just don;t feel like it and to try to get more easier miles in this year. Also, my mid-foot plantar felt better in my Vertical Ks than in my more protective shoes ... who knows, I see the doc next Friday

For speed, a few steeper hills of about 0.5 mile or the 4-5 mile climbs to Skyline are my fitness gauges.

No run today, but I am off the next 3 days and plan on celebrating with a run or two each day.

I gave worked out a training schedual for a May 10 race and I need to get in the groove. I lime running in snow, but as it melts and refreezes and gets chopped up...it becomes more grueling. I guess I am a whim..but I need to get over it. Time is ticking and I am not getting g any younger.

Sandy: Congratulations on the promo. If you end up relocating to Asia I am sure there will be a chance for many running adventures.

Up and at 'em early again. 7 miles and where I had traction I stretched out the legs. Felt good as it's been awhile the way this winter has been going. Headed down now to the cave for an instant weight session and some time on the elliptical. I just may have mentioned it before- there is a mini fridge right there loaded with craft brews, I just may be down there awhile.   Still have to get up early again for another swim session and I was gonna take my ski's and headlamp with me for a trail session on the boards after work but DW wants to go out dinner. If I play my cards right...     Back when I was a kid what do you think we called it when you took a girl out for pizza and beers??

          Foreplay.

QOTD--Madison has a classic 10k route that circles a lake.Tough course. I never race it these days but I still run specific pace workouts weekly. I have run that course for 25 years so it gives me a clear idea of where I am or not.

I do the same on a road bike out in the country from my house. Time trialing that 8 mile loop after a long warmup gives me all the feedback I need.

          Sandy--Nice!

An easy 8.5 sans headlamp this morning under the full moon and then another easy 5.4 at lunch.

QOTD:  Not really.  I try not to run the same route often.  Keep things interesting.  The day's run and the pace I run it are up in the air until I get going.

SRD--so did the 1.5 mile loop in the super creepy fog tonight when I got home from work. The big moon must be up now because I can see that the fog has an orange glow to it, but it's pea soup thick out there. On the drive home from work, I missed the turnoff from one interstate to the other because I couldn't see the signs in the fog.

Low_02--I don't run well first thing in the morning, but since these days I have to (anything's better than running when I get home after standing for 13 hours at work), I have found that eating extra for dinner the night before makes a huge difference. But it's still not as good as running in the afternoon.

              Sandy-- congrats on the promotion!

QOTD: Not really since I've moved. I used to have a 7 mile loop that I used as a baseline for years and years, as well as a 3mi hill climb. Haven't found any replacements to rival those yet. Also don't really care to know how bad of shape I'm in after three years of gradual deconditioning.

Race schedule: a 50k. Sometime. This year. Maybe a 5k too. Maybe races in between as well.

Extremely nice 10 miler after work on Thursday, progression run... It was very good.

QOTD: Yes. I did it today. And it was good.

Sandy: Congrats on the promotion. Wow, they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel of there aren't they? LOL. Just kidding. I wouldn't have made that joke if I really thought that. Congrats again and good luck this weekend.
