Not spring in Wisconsin yet (Read 31 times)

Uh oh... now what?

Just reading this for central Wisco... hope you folks are all safe and warm.

Statement as of 8:56 PM CST on February 21, 2013

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST
    Friday...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST
    Friday.

    * Timing... a band of moderate snow will affect the area beginning
toward the midnight hour and lasting through 5 am early Friday.
The snow may be heavy at times. Light snow will continue through
the day Friday... tapering off in the late afternoon and evening.

    * Snow accumulations... 3 to 5 inches by Friday morning... with an
additional inch during the day Friday. Storm total snow of 5
to 6 inches by Friday evening.

    * Winds... east at 10 to 20 mph... with gusts of 25 to 35 mph
later tonight into Friday morning. Winds becoming variable 5
    to 10 mph Friday afternoon.

    * Impacts... snow-covered roads... along with reduced visibilities
with blowing and drifting snow... will make travel hazardous
later tonight into the Friday morning commute.

    Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
periods of snow will cause snow covered roads and limited
visibilities due to gusty winds blowing snow around. Use caution
when traveling... especially in open areas.

Sadly, it is not spring here in PA either.  we had a group run planned for tomorrow morning on the Laurel Highlands trail but I'm not sure its going to happen.  Driving there might be treacherous in the morning as we are supposed to get the tailend of the storm that is cutting across the mid-west and it will be mostly ice here.

I hope all of you that are impacted by this storm stay safe and warm as well.

Safe and sound here, with a new dusting of snow.  I did some Barkley style snowsnoeing and played "find the trail" since I was the first one to make tracks yesterday afternoon.

        Running is dumb.
