Sandy-2

Did 20 this morning.  Back to "normal" TX weather, tropical and very humid.  My glasses got so fogged up I took them off for a while.  Sheeesh.

Good luck to all you racers out there.

qotd: Have you started any holiday shopping yet, or does the thought of X-mas before Thanksgiving drive you crazy?

Me? I don't start until after Thanksgiving.  Seeing X-mas stuff in the stores too early bugs me.

    tbd.

    Uh oh... now what?

Leaving for to play with the chainsaw in the park... fa luh la luh la... bleah...

QOTD:  Christmas shopping is done between the 22nd and 24th of December for in-house gifts.  The out-of-towners are given due shipping time consideration, but not before Thanksgiving, not on the goofiness of Black Friday, not on a weekend... we try for Tuesday or Wednesday.

      Christmas.

The pooch and I had a nice 7.5 mile run.

QOTD: Yeah we have done some Christmas shopping already.

Hope the Stone Millers are doing well.  It's a beautiful weather day for them.

DW and I did some easy miles on some cross country ski trails at a local state park.  No hunting allowed there, so we were safe.

QOTD:  We still have 2 carved pumpkins on our front porch, so no Christmas shopping yet for us.

          “Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!

Had a nice run yesterday. Spent so much time daydreaming that I missed a turn and ran shorter then I wanted to Roll eyes. Even stopped briefly at my one neighbors to admire a very nice buck he had just bagged. I got home, checked my time, saw that it was really good, then realized that I had run less then I thought. Still it was a very good time for the distance. No running today since I'm at work for 24 hours.

QOTD: I can't get into the Christmas spirit any more. I think it's because I'm always busy with too much to do and I despise the commercialism that surrounds it. As far as shopping goes I'm just starting to look at some things now. DW got DD a Kindle Fire HD because Amazon had it on sale, that was over a month ago. DS is interested in a Nike + run watch so I have to research that.

            Endless trails

Looks like the Stone Mill 50 folks have some great weather today, now

they just gotta deal with the distance.

I did 13 trail miles this morning, felt great, last 2 miles were my fastest. Still

can't believe the weather we're having, 50's here and shorts/t-shirt on my run.

QOTD: C'mon, Sandy, it's not even turkey day yet. My DW is the smarter of the

two of us, she's been squirreling away little gifts for people already. I follow

John's plan, but then vow to do it different every year.

Went over to the Ice Age trail in the Kettle Moraine Forest this morning for 14 miles of great rolling single track. Got nailed by a nice thunderstorm with about 4 miles to go. In July that would be fine but in Nov. in Wi.---well it got cold! Our days are numbered here for good trail running as the snow will be coming. If we're lucky maybe 4-5 weeks yet but who knows.  Back a few years we got 17" on or about Dec. 10th and that pretty much obliterated the trails for the entire winter.

QOTD--I'm with John and Jon on this one. My mistake I make every winter is to not ship my gifts out until the last minute and then pay thru the nose to get them there on time. I'm sure I'll do it again this year.

                Are we there, yet?

Had a fantastic time today at the NCAA D3 Mideast Regional XC meet. Several of the men and women I sometimes train with ran their best races. The kids seemed to really enjoy the atmosphere and running in a big meet like that. Meanwhile I got in a good fartlek workout running all over the place trying to cheer at different sections of the course. By the time the day ended after checking out the course layouts before hand and dashing around during the races, my Garmin said I ran a total of 6 miles with lots of pauses in between dashes.

QOTD: I only buy presents for a few family members. I keep an eye out all year, but wait until December to make the purchases unless I see something while traveling that I couldn't get near home.

qotd: I just purchased a few gifts on line for one of my daughters, I like to get it done fairly early and out of the way Smile

                      afternoon folks!

2 miles. was planning for more, but I stopped to watch a helicopter setting telecom tower sections and got lost in the moment.

now onto tree removal in the backyard, again.

QOTD: Shopping is done! (it's easy when you don't buy anything)

9.2 miles with the dog.  Don't ask me where that came from.  I said I would run till the pain got worse than a dull ache and it just never did.

QOTD: Same as Birdwell.  No shopping = done already!

                          Running is dumb.

                          Sue

Wow Mandy so happy that you got 9 pain free miles in.  # hours mountain biking with hubby.  The trail awesome to run but was a bit sketchy (for me ) on a Mountain Bike.

QOTD:  I am also like Birdwell and Mandy.  I buy nothing for the holidays...if we show up and the kids are staring at us Angry then we pull the wallet out hand give them cash. (I just delete a whole paragraph rant about gift giving...to sum it up "it is out of control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
