2.8 Mile Race RR and link to trail pictures (Read 50 times)

I ran the Intro to Summer Trail Run this morning. The race takes place on trails around Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas City, KS. In 2010, this race was my first ever trail run and I finished in 28:17. In 2011 I finished in 23:44 and last year I finished in 22:19. Today, my goal was to finish in Under 23:00 and I ended up finishing in 21:50. I really didn't expect to better my time from 2012, as I don't think I am in as good of shape as I was this time last year. Needless to say, I am completely happy with how I did today.

After the race I went back out on the trails to get in more miles and to snap some photos. The pictures can be found at the following link.

    Faster Than Your Couch!

Congratulations, looks like a really enjoyable, fast course!

Experience also plays a big role in running trails. You get more confident, so this might have played a part in you being able to better your previous PR this year - or you are in better shape than you realize!

      Run for fun.

Nice improvement curve. Looks like sub 20 next year.

          “Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!

That's great to have a race where you can gauge your progress like that.  4 years of improvement...that is awesome.  Congrats.

FTYC - Thanks! I'm sure being more confident on trails is the likely culprit for the improvement.

                AT-runner - Thanks! Sub-20 would be great.

Jamezilla - Thanks! I do like being able to gauge myself at the same races.

                Snowdenrun - Thanks!
