Here are a few pictures from my run Saturday. Just four miles after skiing in a mix of rain and heavy wet snow got old ...
It crossed a few ski trails but was on the snowmobile trails and traverses that were not open.
Step 1: Look up for downhill skiers
Step 2: Run Across
Step 3: Head down the trail!
Step 4:
Waive to puzzled skiers on the lift, if there are any
Step 5: Shower and hit the hot tub!

It's a bummer all that snow....and so wet.

I have done some runs in Norway on trails that parallel cross country ski trails. I was warned to stay off the ski trails so I don't mess up the tracks (which I knew already) with possible postholing (sp?). As long as I stayed on the parallel hiking (running) trails I was fine. The skiers were always friendly and waved. Over there it was not considered strange that someone would be out skiing, running, hiking in the middle of the woods in the snow with -5 to -10 deg F temps. Although since there are not too many people there it was kind rare to see others, one time I did a 15 mile out-n-back and never saw another person. :-)
