Pace Prophet

    1. Sub-1:35 half marathon

    2. PR the Imogene Pass Run (17.1M trail race)

    3. Run a 50K

    4. Figure out the trail system on Raider Ridge so I can run more variations without getting lost

    I think that's it.

      Mine are simple

      1. Run 2500 miles, shouldn't be to hard I will be at 2100 by the end of this year

      2. Run first 100m, one 50 down and 2 more 50's lined up before a 100 try next fall.

      3. BQ, this goal and goal #2 really don't go well together for me but I am going to try. I'm not a fast runner, I can go slow all day long but add a little speed and I fall a part.

      Bring on the new year!

        Thread killer ..

That's so nice thank you !  I would love to do that new race in Monument Valley but it seems like a hard place to get to , not sure if you fly to Phoenix and drive or Albuquerque and drive , might try and figure that out for next year . The race I was looking at is near Phoenix in February.

If you're thinkin about a race in Northern AZ, you'd be more than welcome to stay at our cabin in Flagstaff for a night or two.  We've got a spare room and singletrack two blocks away.

In 2013 I set some very specific goals. I realized I'm not really a goal oriented person.

2014 goals are a little broader.

              1. Run more

              2. Eat healthier

              3. Body weight starting with a 1 rather than a 2

              4. Take advantage of all the awesomeness that surrounds me

              5. Spend more time in Zion National Park

              6. Enjoy life

              Snowdenrun

These are my kind of goals! I particularly like #4.

After having a stellar 2012 and a mediocre 2013 I'm not sure what the goals should be.  Let's go with

                  1) 2500 miles (third year in a row for this goal and I haven't met it yet)

                  2) R2R2R (if I can stay healthy)

                  3) Quit procrastinating and incorporate yoga on a regular basis (hopefully the key to staying healthy)

                  4) Weight < 170 all the time

                  You people have issues

                    1. A strong finish at Hyner 50k.

                    2. Run a race longer then a 50k.

                    3. Reduce weight to 160 lbs.

                    4. Increase general overall fitness and strength.

For now, here are my 2014 goals:

                      1) Finish the Run Toto Run 50K in under 7 hours (the time will likely go down as my training progresses)

                      2) Run a 50 miler

                      3) Run more trail runs

                      4) Sub 27 in a 4 mile race (on roads)

                      5) Get my weight down below 165 and stay there. I'd like to get down to 155ish.

                      6) Run consistently and have fun.

All you men and your 2014 goal weights are making me feel fat  Big grin

I know, right?  Just how tall are they?!

(Although I have met RabbitChaser, so I know he isn't super tall...)

                          Running is dumb.

Well if it makes you feel any better I'm trying NOT to lose any more weight in 2014.

Well if it makes you feel any better I'm trying NOT to lose any more weight in 2014.

Haha sure, a little bit Smile

Seeing as I'm getting married in 2014 (already bought the dress) and have also chosen to not run long races in 2014, my goal is just to stay around the same weight and build some upper body strength. This will involve a lot fewer cocktails and french fries for sure. Sad

                              Endless trails

I didn't exactly meet my 2013 running goals. I did, however, learn some very good

lessons that I'm sure will propel me into the next stage of my running. Last year I

set some goals that I wasn't quite ready for or fully committed to.

                                2014:

                                1. Continue running consistently

                                2. Continue with strength/core exercises

                                3. Spring 50K

                                4. Fall 50

                                5. Meet more trail animals (Trail Animals Running Club)

I've always been kinda thin, now I'm 46 and have a little chubbiness around my belly. I'll

just consider that age-appropriate and not worry about my weight.
