Faster Than Your Couch!
It is so bright, I almost get blinded by it. Anyone have an idea as to why it's shining so bright these days? (Except for the fact that it's full moon, of course).
Run for fun.
It was also nice down here this morning. The humidity was slightly lower than normal (I guess about 90%), so the air was fairly clear and the moon was quite bright.

I heard that NASA went up and replaced the bulb, so it should be much brighter now.
Here's a neat blog explaining why it appears to be brighter sometimes: http://blogstronomy.blogspot.com/2013/03/does-brightness-of-moon-fluctuate-and.html
Uh oh... now what?

Oh, they did change the bulb? I thought it was due just for a battery change. Maybe they put in one of those halogen bulbs, or even a LED?
Geez, that's probably why the government is about to shut down.

You morons! The moon isn't powered with a battery and the shine doesn't come from a bulb. The moon shines because it reflects light from the sun. The reason it seems so bright now is because NASA went up and cleaned an accumulation of moon dust off the mirrors. Duh, "changing the bulb." I can't believe you guys are so gullible!
You got a reference for that? Source? NASA never went to the moon .
Ilanarama, you are falling for one of those conspiracy theories. The moon can't reflect the SUNlight because it shines in the NIGHT. Duh.
