Swim Bike Run

I didn't get chick'd (Read 29 times)

On Sunday, I did my first race ever where I beat the overall 1st place woman.

Overall, I'm proud of my results (and not because I beat all women).

Overall: 40th place, 6th in my AG of 42

    Swim: 1:35 / 100yd (Overall 49th of 358 men, 3rd in my AG of 42)

Bike: 22.6mph (Overall 22nd of 358 men, 3rd in my AG of 42)

Run: 7:28 / mile (Overall 68th of 358 men, 10th in my AG of 42)

(The 1st place girl finished 25 seconds behind my time.)

    My Age Group was tough!

This was a sprint triathlon (275yd pool swim, 14.6mile bike ride, 5k run)

25 days until Ironman Texas.  That was my practice race.

Congratulations! It looks like you had a great race!

Nice racing Brian, you just might be a short course guy.

I really enjoyed the race.  It was a great morning where I could race with my wife and a number of our close friends.

Throughout the race we were able to cheer each other on and we all had a great time.

My wife and I were able to recruit 4 friends to join the race who have never raced a triathlon before, and I'm pretty sure they'll all be back for another.

After this upcoming Ironman, I think I may put some focus on shorter races.  We'll see.  (I said the exact same thing this time last year right before my 1st Ironman).
