Well done to Ian Sharman. 7:35ish pace for 100 miles is pretty damned good in my book. Great to show the Septic "big names" a thing or two.

Yes, saw this myself, that is pretty amazing pace for 100miles, no wonder North Face have sponsored him.

How is the knee Purdey? I am sure if  you had been running you would have done some damage on the Thames Trot on Saturday,

how long before we see you back out ripping it up?

North Face must be absolutely laughing - they finally decided to sponsor him just 1 week before his big win. Now that is great commercial timing!

My knee is now fine (I think), but my achilles is making running nearly impossible. It seems to become unbearably painful from about 4 mi. I'm not sure when I'll be back training properly. (Thanks for asking though!)

It is an awesome performance and yes North Face did time things well.

If you look at past results this guy has been moving steadily up (8th at WS100 last year) under the radar and then suddenly arrives with one hell of world class performance. It turns out pre-RR100 someone I know who is quite close friends with him asked "Marathon Talk" if they would interview him but they simply didn't want to know.

Post-race it appears everyone wants to know who he is. It's great for ultrarunning and British running particularlyl. It looks like it will be a stellar year for the elite runners at most of the competitive trail events especially WS100.

Amazingly he only took up running 6 years ago when he decided to do Marathon Des Sables. This guy really is some talent.
