hello bill, i know you know a little bit about shoes and was wondering if you think the mizuno wave elixer would be a good race day shoe for the marathon, the place i'm working now gave me a pair to use and they seem pretty light however they don't seem quite as light as those nike racing flats you gave to me last year, the triad i think, but since it the race is pretty long maybe those nike's wouldn't be substantial enough, anyway i just thought i'd ask for your opinion ian

Ian, They should work fine. Be sure to do a few faster workouts in them prior to the marathon. You want to make sure that you don't have any rubs, as even the smallest rub will cause blisters during the 26 miler. The light ones that you used prior were really designed more for 5 k and 10ks. A bit more cushioning would be better for your calves later in the race. Bill
