Oshkosh Half Marathon (Read 61 times)

Has anyone ever run it? I was going to run the Remax/Trailbreaker Half on April 6th, but just found out that it was canceled, so I'm looking for a replacement race around the same time.

Why are they cancelling the TrailBreaker???? I was planning on running that one.... Shocked Surprised Angry

I couldn't believe it myself! I was reading the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel on Monday and there was a small article about the race being canceled. I ran this the last 3 years and it was going to fit perfectly in my training schedule for Green Bay, so I was looking forward to doing the race.

It's sounds like a bunch of crap to me, but what they said was that the person in Remax who has organized the race for the last 4 years has left and they didn't think a new person could take over and get everything done in time. Personally I think they just don't want to sponsor it. With only 6 weeks to go before the race, you would think they would have much of the structure in place.

Yeah I went to the race website, and all it had was a cancellation notice.

I guess I'll do the Black Earth 10 mile race that day. I've done that one before a couple of times, it's cheap ($4 or $5, no shirt or anything, but a couple of water stops). It's out and back on a fairly flat course, but overall downhill going out and uphill coming back. It's in open farm country, so the wind can be a problem.

Maybe te Trailbreaker will be back next year, but I'm not holding my breath....
