Half Marathon (Read 58 times)

So I am in search of a Half marathon for this fall since a couple of my leading options are falling through I am checking on a couple more. Has anyone done the Rails to Trails Marathon/Half(Norwalk) or the Tyranena Half Barre(Lake Mills)l?

which of your options are falling through?

i have not run either of the races you mentioned. i know some other fall 1/2's are lake county and appleton.
were either of those a former option?

also, i'm not sure where in WI you are, but chicago has a sept 1/2 mary that i've run before and was a lot of fun. not sure if this helps... good luck!
I am in Northwest WI by Eau Claire. So far my options that are starting to fall through are the Whistlestop 1/2 in Ashland and possibly the Tater Trot in Rice Lake. Whistlestop is out for sure since that is the weekend of the Breast Cancer Conference in Minneapolis. Tater Trot is still almost in the running but there a very few poeple who run in and I am worried about my time.

I've never run it, but I was seriously considering doing the Tyranena Half Barrel. Not a huge deal, but I thought the entry fee at $55 was kind of steep for a half marathon. If I do run one in the fall, this will be it.

i was going to do the Tyranena last fall, but a massive illness that week wiped me out. My sister and uncle raced, though.

It was a great race on a hilly course. After the race there was a full lasagna dinner, two free beers (and they have some great beers), live music... The finishers medal was quite artistic.

I think that's enough to convince me to run it. I really wanted to do it last year, but I was fighting an injury in the summer and wasn't ready. I think I'll be there this year though.
