Onitsuka Tiger Tai Chi (Read 1169 times)

I came across these shoes from Onitsuka Tiger (Asics) that look fairly minimal.  I'm not sure whether I would run in them, but they look like a good minimal alternative just for walking around.  Has anyone worn these shoes?

I have never tried this model but I like minimal shoes like this.  Unfortunatley I find most of them are too narrow.  My feet like a bunch of wiggle room if they are going to be inside a shoe.

      These shoes look interesting:

I find taiji shoes in general very comfortable and walk in them till they fall apart - although the ones I wear are usually canvas. These look more like taekwondo shoes adapted for walking. Taekwondo shoes are very minimalist (you're supposed to be barefoot) and super-comfortable, but can make the foot feel rather hot.

I tried running in very similar shoes (looking like taekwondo, but not the real deal) on the treadmill, they definitely don't allow for heel-striking, but they are very narrow, which can make you feel a little unstable. Post-run, I could feel the same muscles I feel when running with VFFs (I am still a beginner and transitioning).

And they're leather, which can make them hot.
