Eastern States 20 Mile and Half Marathon (Read 578 times)

Just curious who else is doing the 20 miler or the half marathon. I know L-Train is doing 20 miles, so am I (not that I'll see him after the start). Laurie is doing the half. Anyone else?

Just because I know he's not on here yet, Greg M is doing the half.

I am pretty sure I'll be in for the half. Michael

I could be up for the half also.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely to the grave in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!

I'm running the half!! Note: the bus pass is generic & simply printed-off an email...I'm guessing I could copy mine...worth a shot if you someone needs to shuttle in a pinch. I'm guessing anyone can ride back from the finish too...doubt they'd expect us to run with the darn thing.

I haven't even signed up yet, as I've been waiting to get injured so I don't have to do it. Since that has not yet happened, I suppose I have to actually sign up. THEN I will get injured.

Ricky is signed up for the half. Are we renting a limo? We're going to need at least 2 cars as shuttle craft. Does anyone have a boat in the water?? We could run back to Hampton.

Dave has signed up for the Half.... how are we doing transportation???? Big grin

Did you guys sign up for the bus (I know Rungulprun did)? I guess I was just planning on driving (and 3 are welcome to join me) to the Casino and then do the bus thing. If you DIDN'T get the bus, then I'm not sure....particularly because only Kristen and I have to go back to Traip.

I am signing up today and would like to jump in a vehicle for a carpool if one is available? Michael

Michael - Mine's available if you are talking about going to Hampton, and if you don't mind that I will be finishing later due to the 20 vs. 13.1. And you won't have to jump. I will come to a complete stop so you don't hurt yourself for the race. I have room for 3 more if people don't mind being tight.

Can I JUMP in also? Do I need to get a bus ticket also?

Yes, of course. Unless we speak otherwise, I'd say we meet at the Y to depart at 7:00AM.
d Do I need to get a bus ticket also?

                            Running Rick

It's going to be a long day by leaving at 7:00 with everyone getting awards at 2:00 and 3:00. I figure 3 cars. One left at Traip which can be picked up on the way home, one at Wallis Sands and one at the casino. I'm willing to drive. The long range forecast calls for cold and wet weather on Sunday. Paul B said he could be a driver if he does not do the half. We'll see.
                              L Train

I'm up for whatever works, I guess I just don't get the logistics. I agree leaving at 7:00 is pretty early. I'm the only one doing the 20 (coming from Sanford) so I guess in Rick's scenario I drive to Traip (alone?) and someone would drop me off on the way back to Maine. Just seems like I'm not contributing in that scenario. I have been planning to do the bus anyway, so I was planning to be at the Casino by 8:00 or so (last bus to Traip is at 9 but they say not to wait that long). But if there's a better scenario with multiple cars where everyone can fit, I'm all ears. If Paul was in for driving, maybe that changes things because that's two for Traip (and it sounds like Laurie might do 20 as well making 3). My brain hurts.
