I have a wetsuit, old bike, old knee but I am young at heart.

gadboy...here is where i got my bike...she is a mutt but she has never left me to call home like a little bitch PLUS i've never broken a spoke and i've never had her chew up my derailer and spit it out my ass. 3 years...4 triathlons...4100 miles without ANY problems for 500 dollars with free shipping!!

the bike even if it spontaniously combusted right this very second...owes me nothing.

have you ever heard that term "swim like a runner"? well i have. it means swimming with bent knees, back arched and carrying the head too high.  think about it...every angle you create with your joints is going to create drag, slow you down and wear you out. think of a seal...dolphin whale. these guys have no "angles". they are stream lined and move through the water effortlessly. so if your swimming...don't think of it as a checklist of things to do like keep your head down...don't bend your knees...reach and follow through the stroke. it's too much thinking...and thinking takes oxygen...oxygen you could put to better use...like swimming faster. instead think seal...dolphin...whale. become seal...dolphin...whale. while swimming easy you should be ready to take a nap...this is where you need to be.

oh for pete's sake...just try it.

                      are you sportjester?

                      L Train

I'm like the kid that gets no glide.  You are right about my form, of course, but when something doesn't come naturally, it's tough to just relax and glide or whatever.  Plus my core is so weak I can't hold my feet up, which I would think is a main problem along with my lack of arm/core strength.  But I get what you are saying.

I don't think I'm guilty of overthinking my swimming (for once!).  I just stink at it.

                          are you sportjester?

no and i resent the question.

                            I just stink at it.

this is stupid. this is an excuse. this is what losers say.

i don't have time for losers. try it before you resign to this queerass conclusion.

if you choose to be a loser, you are of little use to me and i can't help you.

to be fair i envision i'm a deer when i run...and well that's where it is.

however there's biking...now biking doesn't come easy to me now does it. i still am not as fast as the next idiot out there however...i am slowly improving (at times)and it is because i am envisioning i'm something else and not a crappy bike rider.

success is 90% mental if i have the blood sugar to support it.

for you runners...it should be the same with only desire to support it.

by the way...you use your weak core waaay to often to excuse your shortcomings. suck it up.
